Frustrated with job...

I officially hate my job, but im afraid to try to go somewhere else...

So far ive been the 'golden boy' for the company...tripled my starting salary and have a cushy position

Only thing is a vehemently disagree with how we treat our people. every 4th quarter has been a massacre of firings/layoffs/reshuffling in order to look good in the books. Its 80% the time ppl that work directly under me... i end up doing the companies dirty work every time, because my boss cant be bothered to know anyone not in production... I lose good people that worked their asses off for us, all the while i get more and more money cause i dont rock the boat...

Ive sadly outpriced myself out of non manager or producer positions for most of the companies that i have contacts at... I make too much for creative. Not to mention i have a non compete clause...

I just needed to vent, as im in the process again for scattering my dept to the winds for 'the books'

So do I.

The non-compete clause essentially means I can go anywhere as long as it's not our biggest competitor, although I'm not sure about one of its subsidiaries. (I saw that the subsdiary had an open that they were recruiting for on Monster.)

Can you leverage your management experience into another industry or do you have your heart set on staying in the field you've been working in?
