At what point does a boat become a yacht?
Then, at what point does a yacht become a ship?

Is it kind of like when a hill becomes a mountain?

I know, but is it the length of the boat that determines if it is a yacht or a ship? What is the footage necessary that makes a boat a yacht or a ship?

I would say if it's got a place for you to sleep it's a yacht

FUNKMAN

i believe it depends on the length and the girth

yacht
–noun 1. a vessel used for private cruising, racing, or other noncommercial purposes.
–verb (used without object) 2. to sail, voyage, or race in a yacht.

ship
–noun 1. a vessel, esp. a large oceangoing one propelled by sails or engines.
2. Nautical. a. a sailing vessel square-rigged on all of three or more masts, having jibs, staysails, and a spanker on the aftermost mast.

looks like the only difference is a ship has a spanker. because if you have a yacht you know you're getting laid

that's just crazytalk

It's not the size of the ship...

I better leave this gimmick to the Grandmaster Funkman.

The NY Times weighs in on this issue. Read about Bush's tax cuts at work.

No place to shit = Boat
2 places to shit = Yacht
3 places to shit and a turret, mounted with the weapon of your choice = Ship

It's easy to grin when your ships come in and you've got the stock market beat. But a man worthwhile is a man who can smile when his shorts are to tight in his seat. Ok pookie.

It's a boat if you're a human.
It's a yacht if you're a prick.

In Navy terms:

Submarine = boat

Aircraft carrier, LPD/LHD/LHA, cruiser, destroyer, frigate = ship

if you cant afford it, its a yacht.

if the govt uses it, or the owner lights his cubans w/ $100 bills, its a ship.

and, i think by rationals of today, anything 40' + w/ 2 staterooms and 2 heads is considered a yacht.
