Say what you want about Dave: He made out with is first cousin, he let a dog lick peanut butter off his penis, he is in love with his Mother, He screwed a jar of jelly, he has either completed or strives to complete full ejaculation in or around every major landmark in the new York/ New Jersey area...
The list goes on and on but Dave represents the child in all of us in a way. Not in the literal sense but more-so in the sense of seeing the world with blinders on; like a 3rd grader. There is a term called 'Gumpism' that refers to something similar to this that states if a person is seen as stupid as so completely naive to the world around them, that they are in fact the lucky ones and moreover; the smart ones because they feel no remorse, see nothing wrong with actions and assume responsibility of no repercussion after years of what others perceive as one disappointment after the next. It's the same principle that spawned the movie FORREST GUMP. That is what Dave is to all of us, our own GUMP. A GUMP with a women who must be the most accepting creature on the planet right there beside him.

The key to Dave is how smart he is humor-wise. He plays dumb but he understands what sets up a good bit and can always set up Ronnie B with a great line. I think he's only aggravating to listeners who don't understand what he's trying to do. He brings a lot to the show.
