Not a MojoPin joke. Looks like the original MST3K crew will be returning (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/34634) for one movie by Christmas. Looks like it may be online.

I'm excited about this. But I also have to give props to Rifftrax (http://www.rifftrax.com) featuring Nelson, Corbett (Crow 2) and Murphy (Servo 2/the most famous Servo).

Joel and TV's Frank and Mary Jo and a few others are starting their own version called "Cinematic Titanic." Plus, as a "fancier" version of Rifftrax, you have the Film Crew. (http://www.filmcrewonline.com/)

And the MST3K vol. 12 DVD boxset came out yesterday.

WATCH OUT FOR SNAKES.

thanks for posting about this site, i had no idea it existed and its great! I highly recommend the Fantastic Four and Roadhouse rifftrax. Also, and I'm not sure if this is national, but my HBO on Demand has the Star Wars prequels on this month so I know what I'm going to be doing this weekend.

Eli - Great find! I want to work with you. How the hell do you have some much time to find this stuff?

I'm very efficient at my job.

Although this one wasn't hard to find. I check out Aintitcoolnews.com every morning (along with this site, cnn.com and newsarama.com) before I start work, and I found this news on that site.

I haven't, but I'm gonna go into them blind but confident. It's all 3 savaging terrible old flicks, which I still prefer over them trashing big budget flops.

Attack of the Giant Gila monster

I remember when the show was still on Comedy Central, I got so sick of this episode. It was a public domain film, and since CC is run by cheap bastards, it's the one they played the most, seemingly at least once a week. Ironically, now that I can't watch MST3K those CC episodes anymore, it's one of the ones I'm dying for Rhino to release on DVD. The damn thing is still public domain...get it done!

and why is either of those in the public domain??? AotGGM is, not the MST3K episode. Public Domain is when the copyright lapses so it becomes available for public use, free of charge. If you ever see those movies in a CVS that are really cheap, in a single sleeve and is some old black and white or western movie, those are usually in public domain.

I got my copy of the Oozing Skull today!

Just finished watching it and it rocks! It's really back to the old school, really bad movie with subtle, hilarious jabs at it.

The movie they chose is just hideous. There's a doctor who looks like Robert Goulet living in the hills of northern Wisconsin who figured out how to do brain transplants using tupperware and red paint. But that's not even the strangest part. He has a midget medical assistant!

The riffing from the cast is great as well. They have a new bit where they pause the movie to give them more time to comment on it or set up a joke.

After a makeover joke at one point, Frank says "If that won't get us on the BRAVO network I don't know what will." I hope they do get back on TV. There are enough damn channels out there.

Courtesy of the official MST3K homepage, here's the listing for the first DVD set put out by Shout! Factory later this year at end of October: (http://www.mst3kinfo.com/?p=758)

211- First Spaceship on Venus
706- Laserblast
904- Werewolf
1004- Future War

Laserblast is, in my opinion, by far one of the funniest damn episodes the show ever produced, so that alone makes this a must for me.

If you didn't get the Rhino DVD's an box sets, you might want to jump on that as that once they're gone they're gone due to the new distribution deal.

No, sassyface, but it reminded me I started watching the show in '92. That might as well be forever ago.

And they were in Minnesota.

Thank you for this opening...!

I just got back to Washington from Comic Con - and pretty much this time yesterday I was sitting in the 4th row at the 20th Anniversary Panel of MST3K. It was pretty much the only thing I wanted to do while at Nerdstock, and the highlight (even after having seen Rose McGowen, Seth Green, Corey Feldman and Kevin Spacey and having actually met Robert Rodriquez and Bill Plympton, and reacquainting myself with Steve Niles and Lloyd Kaufman - and even getting on G4 with the rest of the unscrubbed Joker wannabes) of the trip.

Comic Con has maybe 10 - 12 big rooms for panels, and for whatever reason the MST3K room ("6B") was one of the smaller ones. To make matters more irritating, they don't clear out the room, so you only get in if someone else leaves - and what was the kicker was that "Robot Chicken" panel discussion was on right before it.

After having waited for about 2 hours in a line that at one time stretched down the hall, outside, then down the width of the convention center, and then wrapping back in front, and then down a level of stairs, I decided after having made little progress if it was ever going to happen.

I showed up to the door just as some of the press did. I did what I had done earlier when I met Robert Rodriquez, and flipped my badge around so that you couldn't tell I wasn't press, and stood there like I knew what I was doing.

At some point, someone I knew from Troma came by, trying to work his connections, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to look like I belonged with him too.

Soon after a large group of people from "Shout Factory" arrived (the sponsors of the event), and I milled in their general direction too.

FINALLY, they opened the door to let the Shout people in with the press. I wedged myself in between, bent over to make it look like I was helping someone carry in heavy camera equipment, and before I knew it I was in the room - and in the 4th row.

The panel was excellent - Patton Oswalt was the MC. My biggest regret leaving today instead of tomorrow is that "The Comedians of Comedy" were playing at the theatre outside my hotel TONIGHT (argh!), but Patton killed - almost stole the show.

The only "clip" they showed was an extended "Opening Credit" montage which included everyone from all the different incarnations. THAT was very cool, and something I hope shows up on the 20th Anniversary DVD. I've been humming it all day.

The group from "RiffTrax" definately were more at ease and in sync during the panel. Joel didn't say that much, even when stuff was directed at him, but several times delivered some very VERY funny, dry lines, once even cracking himself up. The puppets were there (!!!) - I have great pictures of them, and of the staged group shot they did afterwards (stupid non-digital camera).

TV's Frank was the dirtiest (they have a very PG rule with the guests in panel discussions) - making kid touching jokes that I'm not sure will make the final cut for the DVD (the panel was recorded to be on that 20th Anniversary box set) - it was in connection to a movie I think they said they passed on called "Child Bride," which they described as "1930 Appalachian Kiddy Porn." The people from Shout (two who were sitting next to me) cringed.

Joel was the last to leave the room when the hour was up - he signed autographs and posed with everyone. "RiffTraxers" were doing a live show tonight also in San Diego (I'd still go see Patton and the "Comedians of Comedy")

I will post pictures tomorrow (non-digital camera) - if I had a "Bucket List," San Diego Comic Con would be on it. All geeks/nerds/fan boys/creative people need to make the trip once. The "industry" side is a bit overwhealming, but this place is so huge that even with 10s of thousands of people there, I never felt really claustophobic - you are never far from an exit outside, where you suddenly find yourself in SAN FUCKING DIEGO! Why everyone isn't living there right now is beyond me! There is so much going on at the same time (I didn't see a lot more than I did see! Paris Hilton?! Sam Jackson? Keanu Reeves? Hugh Jackman? Never saw a peep of any of them) that you only are going to be in a cluster fuck if you choose to. This thing is like Chiller x 10, if Chiller didn't suck.

In their 39 years Comic Con has never pre sold out every day, and they did this year. As a point of reference, I got my tickets in March - by then, however, all the hotels were booked up - except through some available on sites like "Expedia." The problem was, no one had anything for Saturday nights, so I bit the bullet and just did Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

I didn't get a lot of extra crap - stuff for other people, mostly. I got a cool Joker limited edition thing from the DC area, and a limited edition (only 6!) statues from POULTRYGEIST from Troma, and a lot of free posters (Fox even handed out poster tubes). One of them included a nice 11x17 one commemorating M3T3K. I could have gotten it signed, but it seemed like everything had been perfect enough.

Pics soon...thanks again for the opening to let me babble a bit!
