It's not his waddle that bugs me. It's just that everytime I see him, I think I'm watching a "Made for" Lifetime for Women Channel movie.

Something about him reminds of "The Smiler" from the comic Transmetropolitan. He was this guy running for president that everyone just assumed would naturally be better than the president he was running against, who was awful. Plus the guy was young and had a great smile, hence "The Smiler." He basically ends up being evil incarnate. He was supposed to be an extreme parody of Tony Blair if he was American and ran for president, and Edwards kind of reminds me of Blair, so it fits.

Yeah, the character's favorite poem is "Ulysses," which was RFK's, too.

The big part that reminds me so much of Edwards is that when the character shows up, he has very little history behind him...as a politician in terms of what he actually "did," he was almost a blank slate.
