Wake me up when you make a actual point. What makes the show so bad to you? You can't just walk in here and make vague criticisms without backing them up. The whole point of the "Feedback" Section is to give FEEDBACK. It doesnt have to be positive, but it has to have substance.

All I meant was make a point. If you want to improve the show, tell us all how. It's not a hard concept.

Here's an example:

The Don and Mike Show is boring. They focus too much on Mike's impressions that simply aren't funny. I find it personally insulting that he insists on doing the impression of the guy from American Psycho and he gets all the quotes wrong and missed the whole point of the character.

I also think Don is completely full of himself and thinks the minutia of his life is interesting to the listeners.

The sad part is the most naturally funny guy on the show is Buzz (or maybe Rob). And they are the ones not trying to be.

Also, their bits are weak, especially when they come right before O&A. They did a "What Would You Do" Contest and they had a guy eating catfood and a guy putting a mouse in his mouth for a little while. O&A had a guy eat 10 live mice and a chick shoot a bottle rocket out of her cooch. All for prizes much smaller than a Mercedes.

I think they need to push the envelope more on bits and not rely on themselves as the basis of all the humor. Bring in some comedians or at least younger people to liven up the show. Unless they are happy with big ratings in Witchata and a core audience over 40.

Dan, you do have a point. I have been listening to D&M for quite some time and I feel that the show is losing some ground. They have been at it for 16 years and should really rethink their strategy. I do know that they CAN be funny and that is what keeps me listening. Don is full of himself, but it's all a part of his radio bit. He can't do voices, he can't keep in touch with his listeners and he definitely can't make new ones because he is still stuck in the 80's and on the same laugh track when he left WLS under the tutelage of Steve Dahl (Steve HAS moved on and expanded his repertoire, Don hasn't). That is why he talks incessantly about his simple home life - it's the only place where he is king. Most D&M listeners (southern) think that he actually leads a glamorous lifestyle and they all aspire to it.

However, I do have to disagree with you about Mike. Mike O'meara is truly a vocal talent (Anthony is too). You cannot say that his ability to improv, in character, is nothing short of amazing. I don't know if you have heard all of his characters, but he has a shitload of them. The nuances and inflections, the cunning linguistics, the ability to turn from one character to another on a dime, makes him absolutely remarkable. He might be an angry irish drunk, but when he does his voices, he is definitely most happy and so am I.

There is nothing more pathetic than a couple of 40 something guys trying to relate and be funny with 20 somethings. Wait a minute! ;)
