Allen fouls out on two straight bullshit fouls, then someone jumps and lands on Pierce's back, and nothing is called.

Ray Allen fouled out with like 5 minutes to go in regulation over two bullshit calls. Both teams got fucked.

I still don't understand how it was "flagrant". Rondo was clearly going for ball, he just hit him in the face.

Rondo's had was nowhere near the ball. He was going for the hard foul the whole time.

I'm not saying that the Allen fouls weren't bad, but come on...the Celtics were hacking all night and basically setting up shop in the paint with next to no fear of getting called.

Stephon Marbury played five minutes in Game 4 and finished with a plus-minus of minus-17.

He played one of the worst 30 seconds of basketball I've ever seen: passed up a WIDE OPEN jumper and dished to an unprepared Rondo who throw up a floating runner that missed bad, came back on D and played Ben Gordon from the side who made an (awkward) jumper. Just terrible.

Even though I have little doubt the Celtics win the series, this is the best NBA playoff series I've seen in over a decade.

And though I've griped about the officials in general, I'm only truly frustrated with how Rondo is getting away with such flagrant hacks. There's playing hard and then there's just flat-out playing dirty. Between tonight, the Miller hack and arguably the trip of Hinirch he's getting away with murder out there.

Again, show me one guy on the Bulls with clear inent for flagrant fouls getting away with it game after game. Nobody on either team has done anything as flagrant as Rondo, and Rondo's arguably done it three times. Throwing Hinrich into the table alone should have gotten him kicked out of the game and possibly suspended. It didn't happen in a play, it was clearly intentional, it happened right in front of the officials and it happened AFTER everything else he's done has gone down, yet he was still in the game.

Celts looked really tired for the first half, then they started doing what they are good at, go to the hole and draw a foul. Peirce hasn't been doing that as much as he should, he's a cutter. That's his game.

I understand Rondo not wanting to do it all the time cause he falls hard, but he sucked it up and got a ton of free throws.

They really stepped up their D, but with Davis in foul trouble and the rest of the team struggling offensively they couldn't capitalize on the tremendous defense.

I have a feeling they will come out flying next game. Can't get down that many points again.

Skip to My Lou HAS to be fined for that cheap shot to house. He smacked him in the back of the head.

And Mojo, you should really be perplexed about KMart getting a $25,000 fine for his hard foul on Dirk in game 1. I didn't think it was even flagrant let alone a big fine. What he did was nothing to what Rondo did. Bad job by the league there.

C's/Magic and Lakers/Rockets game 3's tonight.

Magic get back Courtney Lee who make them more dynamic because of his ability to be a jump shooter. But they loose Skip to my Lou so its kind of a wash.

Lakers have no Fisher but he's so slow especially against Brooks that it doesn't matter that much.

No Yao and the Rockets are rolling the Lakers. The NBA is weird in that regard, a team can lose its best player and it can change or open up the offense enough that the opposing team can't make adjustments to it. Saw it with Howard out against the Sixers last week. Rockets should still have no chance to win the series but at least its interesting.

God the Magic are so dissapointing. Van Gundy sucks.

While I agree that Stan Van Gundy is a turd, Dwight Howard needs to pickup his game and be a man. Pointing fingers at the coach in public is ridiculous when you lack the ability to hit a 12-foot jumper.

Seriously, Howard is a wonderful player but his lack of overall game is killing that team. His limitations give other teams the ability to defend him, when they shouldn't have that ability. There is no way that Kendrick Perskins should be able to defend Dwight Howard, but in a weird way he can.

That isn't Stan's fault, that's Dwight's fault.

Steph Curry reminds me alot of Shawn Respert when he came out from Michigan State. Too small for the 2 guard, and not good enough to play the point.

If Curry goes to a place that will only use him as an off-the-bench spark plug, then he has a chance.

Stunned. The Cavs dominance really came back to bite them in the ass tonight.

LeBron hasn't had to go full motor for at least the last 2 months. He would hold the ball for 15 seconds a possession towards the end there. And then the layoff after layoff. Magic deserve a TON of credit for coming back.

I think they win one more at home and that's it but this has certainly planted a seed of doubt for me.

It's the truth.

But similarly, the Cavs had no way to defend Howard. He will get 25-30 and 15+boards a night this series, Z can't defend him. If the Cavs are slow around the perimeter like they were, the Magic just have to make their shots to win. Easier said then done and I can't see the Cavs playing this bad on defense again.

It's going to be a better series than most people thought. I can't get my hopes yet though. DH has to watch out and stay out of foul trouble.

im watching the yanks, how did coach k do that? i cant stand him (only cause he coaches duke) so ill try and discredit him any chance ill get. i think it was just the fact that bron bron saw how hard kobe works and he was like, 'if hes working that hard then i have to work that hard' and he did it.

It's definitely that too. I'd say 50-50 actually. But it was also the way Coach K brought those guys together and let them learn from each other. They have all talked about the way he would teach and how they wanted to get better. He would let Kobe talk in meetings and teach certain things where other coaches would have made it about their way. They all became better defenders after learning from him.

And after watching this, the NBA is really putting their eggs in the Kobe/LeBron basket. I am a fan of the game, so it doesn't matter to me, but it does matter to the league.

I pray last night was an abberation.

LeBron gets all the press for the 'Kobe and Coach K really making a difference on a player' story, and rightfully so, but Carmelo has turned into an elite all around player.

He's so much more active on the defensive end, takes smart jumpers, goes to the hole hard. I'm sure Billups deserves as much credit too.

Awesome game, so many good players on the court, its such a high level. It's a shame this won't get the press Kobe/LeBron would but Carmelo/Kobe is almost as good as it gets.

Maybe it's just me, but from watching these playoffs, it seems like LeBron is blatantly better than Kobe in just about every way. They have yet to face each other obviously, but the way LeBron can carry his team vs. Kobe attempting to carry his team, it doesn't even seem close. LeBron is in what, his 6th season? He's already better than the guy people consider the "best in the game". Give me LeBron over Kobe any day. Better shooter, better passer, and a better leader.

Tonight aside, he simply isn't even close to the killer that Jordan was, yet he's already being annointed.

It's not even a comparison. Jordan at 24 or Lebron at 24. Lebron has done waaaaayyyy more. Even if you want to go by # of years in the league.

Lebron became the third player in NBA playoff history to compile at least 300 points, 80 rebounds and 60 assists in the first 10 games of a single postseason. 2nd time he's done it.

Scored his teams final 25 points against the best defensive team of the era (which kinda goes overlooked now but is probably his best moment). Went to the Finals with a terrible supporting cast.

2 things that separate him at this moment: the rings (LeBron will never catch him, he will in MVP's cuz writers are stupid but he can't win that many in this era), and the rules (handchecking, etc) that Jordan had to play against and he doesn't.

The thing that will keep Jordan's legacy safe forever will be the 2 years off to recharge the battery. He doesn't win 6 in a row if he doesn't walk away. The sport is too much of a grind. It will wear LeBron down before he can do all the things Jordan did.

He isn't Jordan but he is on an 'over pace' as of now. He won't eclipse him but its fun to watch.

I'm sure that has nothing to do with Jordan already being twenty-one when he entered the league.

Go by years in the league then. LeBron went to the finals much sooner. Jordan couldn't beat Isiah Thomas.

People try to jump on the next big thing and anoint people too soon. I'm with you on that. I hate it too. But he does things and has a skill set that no player has ever had. And so far, he is in the discussion. He won't end up being the greatest, but he sure looks like the greatest some nights.

Here is the thing for me. When I see a player who can drive the paint and has the post moves that LeBron does, yet continually watch him pass to inferior talent or take twelve foot jump shots and threes in crunch time, I'm a little skeptical as to his killer killer instinct.

It's a fair gripe. The problem is you are comparing him to the greatest killer instinct player probably any sport has ever seen. He's 24 still and has come a long way in that regard. The 25 straight points against the best defense of the era washed away that notion for me. Tonight went a step further as well.
