Frank Abagnale:"Doctor Harris, do you concur?"
Doctor Harris:"Concur with what sir?"
Frank Abagnale:"With what Doctor Ashland just said, do you concur?"
Doctor Harris:"Uh, well it was a bicycle accident. The boy told us."
Frank Abagnale:"So you concur?"
Doctor Harris:"Concur?"
Doctor Ashland:"I think we should take an X ray then stitch him up and put him in a walking cast."
Frank Abagnale:"That's very good, Dr. Ashland. Very good. Well, you don't seem to have much need for me. Carry on."
Doctor Harris:"I blew it, didn't I! Why didn't I concur?!"

Shorty thought he hit us with 114 years till I explained what concurrently meant. It meant a minimum sentence of 10 years hard labor at the Charlestown State Prison. The date was February 1946. I wasn't quite 21. I had not yet begun to shave.

It really sounds like Po's show is going to suck out loud. He is horrendous on the O&A show and I can't see him doing a worthwhile show on his own.

Po's instuctions for finding clips of his show is hysterical. They're raggin' him hard and even Opie had a funny line: "Watch Titanic because I believe at some point during the movie the boat fights back."

Jimmy has been on fire the last few days. The slaughterhouse discussion yesterday and the guy jerking it in the church today were priceless.
I work down at the port in Newark, and they're (O&A) dead on about the security. A lot of containers are checked by radiation detection, but it still isn't as secure as it should be.

MadMatt
11-08-2007, 06:22 AM
The problem is, as much as they say they are honest and open on the show, Opie & Anthony can't take criticism. I really don't like the fact that they talk about s@#$ so much because it personally disgusts me, but if I called in with that they would slam me for it.
I have had to turn off the show or switch channels more times than I can count, but there isn't anything I can do about it. It's a little frustrating, but I am just a listener.

Sounds like XM dumped out on them but they weren't talking about the merger. Opie wasn't pissed so I'm not sure whether he made up the merger shit but ehh.

They said something to the effect of "and thats our thoughts on the merger" (no anger).
Kevin Smith asked what this merger talk was about because he missed it.
Opie said that they couldn't say. KS then asked if it was good news or bad, and Norton jumped in and said bad depending on your race. They lauged a moment, then moved on.
Whatever it was, it doesn't really sound like it is a good thing.

Apparently, the merger was approved a few weeks ago and I remember reading on one of the threads that the "cutting out" was the result of XM and SIRRUS testing the feeds to see if the signals will co-exist on the differnt platforms. I am not sure it this is true, just what I read.

This is what the lastest talk is.
On June 8, 2007, the FCC's Mass Media Bureau gave "Public Notice" that it had accepted the application for filing and started its informal six month merger review clock.[8] The notice also set a pleading cycle requiring comments or petitions be filed by July 9, 2007, and responses or oppositions be filed by July 24, 2007. Since FCC review of major transactions takes approximately six months, a ruling should be issued by early next year.
On October 4, 2007, Sirius and XM satellite radio announced that both companies will conduct a shareholder vote. Sirius has scheduled a meeting for Tuesday November 13, 2007, for shareholders to vote on the proposed merger at 9:00 AM, New York City time, in the Auditorium at The Equitable Center, 787 Seventh Avenue, New York, New York 10019. XM will be conducting a similar shareholder vote in Washington D.C. on the same date as Sirius' vote. It is expected that shareholders will overwhelmingly approve the union of the two satellite radio providers.
Also, Ant bitching about a hybrid car, saying they are trendy. This coming from a guy who drives an Escalade, the trendiest vehicle around. he is bitching because oil prices went up because people bought hybrids. Saying he would rather 'peel out' and 'lay rubber'. This coming from a 47 year old Long Island wrench.

I find these fights to be hysterical - each of them take and give some really good shots.
However, I don't ever get the "anger" feeling when Bill and Anthony fight. It's almost like 2 brothers having a short knock-down-drag-out then everything is status quo afterwards.

I think it's just the politics that makes them put the comedy aside. Anthony feels confident he's informed coming from the center/right and Bill comes admittedly uninformed from the left. Bill always doubt's Anthony's informededness, label's him a hick that reads and Anthony sized Bill us as a conspiracy nut, anger always ensues in those ying yang conditions.
Bill did call Anthony a comedy hack so it was pretty heated for a while.

I don't buy it. I thought the dropouts were only happening on 202. The music stations seem to be fine. I can't imagine why they would only be testing the talk stations.
