Cena: Steroids? "Absolutely not"
In a country in which the news media is highly suspect, and the quality of unbiased reporting has been thrown into the trash can, CNN has stooped to new depths. Notwithstanding the fairness, or lack therein, of CNN’s recent piece entitled “Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling,” perhaps the best example of how CNN misrepresents and unfairly presents their biased, if not illegal, point of view is the comparison of WWE’s unedited video above to CNN’s edited version. CNN’s depiction of John Cena as it relates to steroids is not only professionally and morally wrong, but damaging to his character.

the editing looks pretty apparent but im wondering since CNN blatently edited Cena's response with the apparent intent to make Cena and WWE look bad couldnt CNN be held acountable for defimation against Cena and WWE??

Wait, so are you trying to say Cena is not on steroids?

Totally not illegal on the part of CNN, but their editing was highly unethical.

However the genius on the part of the WWE was to obviously tape it themselves and make rebroadcast part of the stipulation. This way you can burn shitty journalists.

Kudos to Vince on this one.

The WWE should have edited that interview, ending right before he starts comparing his situation to a soldier's.

WWE should just let Iron Sheik make another shoot video to patch this problem right up.

It's a trick out of the 60 Minutes playbook. 60 Minutes did a similar hack edit job with a controversial company, but the company taped the entire thing as well. Unfortunately for the company, they didn't have an outlet to release the unedited material to.

WWE does.

Oh, don't forget who owns CNN.

Upon further review.. it shows that Stugots has fumbled before he crossed end zone. And the ball was recovered by Sailor.

You're right, I thought Turned had maintained some of the CNN assets even though T-W had ownership.

That being said, the WWE would have been all over Ted Turner if he still had an ownership stake. Even though Vince won the WWE/WCW war, he would have enjoyed a reason to go after Ted more.

i was under the impression that Ted Turner sat as CEO of the Time Warner as part of them buying his companies or was that short lived?

No, I'm pretty sure he's totally out at this point. He might have had some position in the past.

I thought CNN hasn't been owned by Ted Turner for years. Aren't they owned by TimeWarner/AOL now?

that was my impression as well. i actually looked for a specific date, couldn't find one, that's why i went with "90s" in my 1st post.

I thought 5-6 years ago he totally left Time Warner behind. I thought he held some time of chairman or president title.

Ted Turner left his job as vice chairman of AOL in 2003.

And logical consumers left AOL in 1999.

Vince might have a point, but really stop saying theres nothing wrong with ProWrestling with regards to steroids or drug use. If he took the time to really clean up the company and then came out and said, yeah for years we had issues but I cleaned it up it would do him better in the long run.

Instead this is Vince in full on defensive mode like a little kid saying "Well HE did this look at him!"

Here's another thing, do you believe Cena?

not at all

if you compare him now to that debut match against kurt angle there is a very noticeable difference

second and it doesnt prove that he is on roids but from most of what i have read about roids and these muscles tearing is that i is not a normal occurence and usually it only happens if the person is on roids

I see that Cena said something stupid that could have of been left open to editing later on. Yes it makes him look very guilty on the CNN side when the actual footage is questionable.
