not sure what the etiquette is on here yet. figured this would be the right forum.
I am in fact a big R&F fan and not a robutt. anyhoo
I am in a band called Broom vs the Combine out of New Jersey.
We play raucus jangly rocknroll.
We've recently been playing a lot near the New Brunswick area and will continue to do so but if you'd like to support but don't want to deal with hipsters in dirty basements we will be playing at the Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park on 12/5.
We get lots of inspiration from bands like Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros, the Pogues, Tom Waits, Van Morrison, X, the Gun Club, Billy Bragg, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and so on and so forth.
The live show I've been told we sound along the vein of Creedence Clearwater Revival and the (Young) Pioneers.
We recorded (with a slightly different lineup) last March and some of those songs can be found at http://www.myspace.com/broomvsthecombine
here is a review of that disc: "Jaunty, lively and engaging six song EP CD of insanely catchy and exuberant country folk-rock tunes, done with a certain kick-up-the-dirt rollicking spirit and sense of merry fun that's a true treat to hear. The rousing vocals project a wondrous feeling of pure joy. The sprightly arrangements are likewise ripe to bursting with tremendous rip-roaring vim and vigor. The atmospheric "2000 Miles from Nowhere" makes an especially strong and lasting impression. A delightful blast of gloriously ragged sonic energy." - Joe W. www.jerseybeat.com
For some reason we all have beards and its kinda zz top creepy.
hope you check it out and dig it, if not, sorry for wasting your precious, precious time.
its on your side.
