Has anyone ever done this before? How did it work out for you? My wife and I have a silver toy poodle who is about three and we are thinking of adopting a dog that looks just like her. She is about 18 months old and was rescued from a breeding mill last month. She has had little human contact throughout her life and is not trained at all. It is "a sight unseen" adoption and if are application is accepted she will be spaid on Thursday and delivered to us on Saturday.

My wife and I have fostered various dogs over the last five years. None of them were from puppy mills, but some were from fucked-up households. It can be a challenge, but you can make it work and be very rewarding.

The thing with the puppy mills that people might not understand is that they are in business to sell their dogs to pet stores. If the concept of puppy mills bothers you, you should never by a dog from a pet store. ESD mentioned this a while ago. I love the guy, but he was very uninformed of the relationship between the mills and the pet stores. He said something about never supporting a puppy mill, and that you should get your dogs from a reputable pet store, which is basically the same thing.

I hope they're coming from HERE. (http://www.nbc6.net/news/14554221/detail.html)
This has been all over the news around here. Terrible story, but most of them are starting to find homes.
