Was not allowed in a bar

I was going in bar with my friend. We chose this one because it had good food and I have been there once or twice in the past. He asks for my id and I talk to my friend during this process. I am not loud. I am definitely not drunk. I was not cursing. He gives me back my id and says I am not allowed in. I asked why he said he did not have to answer. Crap like this has happened to me way too much. He heard my voice and assumed I was on something or drunk even though physically I showed no signs of this. I was very embarrassing. I hate this shit. I know it does not sound like a big thing but shit like this happens to me constantly. Something that pops in my mind...I was dating this girl and he brother calls me retarded based on my voice alone. Always with the helmet jokes. I am tired of explaining this is my normal voice. Yea lots of people don't notice it at all but I get enough comments that it really pisses me off. Yesterday really got me pissed.

i am not sure what the deal with your voice is, but i you feel discriminated against you can call the bar and tell them you are going to sue based on the American's with Disabilities act and then see if you can parlay it into a free night of drinking.

Bingo. Clubs can pick and choose who they want and do not want in.

I went to the bar in the morning. went to the Manager and complained. He was nice enough and said it is a Saturday night and he has to make judgment. He was cool enough but not really going to do anything. I am OK with it now just embarrassing not to be allowed in a bar just because I am considered drunk when I only had one drink.
