View Full Version : Thanksgiving Thread
Since it's Thanksgiving week I thought it would be kind of cool to have a thread where everyone can say what they're thankful for. Besides, the boys are off this week so what the hell else are we gonna talk about?
First off, I'm obviously thankful for the Ron and Fez show. I often wonder if Ron, Fez, and everyone involved with the show really know just how much they mean to us. I can't imagine working all day without sharing a bunch of laughs, some deep thoughts, and a few tears with my buddies each and every weekday. They're truly a godsend and I hope they know just how appreciative their fans are.
I'm also thankful for all the relationships I've forged with my fellow members here over the years. I've met some people who will be lifelong friends and I've even fallen in love through this place. The bonds that are forged on RonFez.net are impossible to explain to an "outsider" but we've really got something special here. It's not always sunshine and roses, and there are occasional fights, heartbreak, etc. but I wouldn't trade my experiences here for anything in the world. I love you guys.
Finally, I'm thankful that although this was an incredibly difficult and trying year for myself and my family, we're all basically back to normal and things are looking up for 2008.
That's it for starters....more to follow.

Thanksgiving is over. James Lipton was there, and MikeyBoy brought plastic forks.
But ok, if I must...
I'm thankful that this year is almost over. 2008 has got to be better.

I'm thankful for the fact that the rough patch im going through right now will only make me a stronger, better person in the end.
I'm thankful for an amazingly supportive family and a fantastic set of friends. These people have literally helped shaped the person I am, and I know they will be with me for life.
I'm thankful for my health and the health of those I love.
Lastly, I'm thankful for sweet potatoes......theyre so tasty.

I'm thankful I have a good job and work with decent people, Ron and Fez who get me through the day and make work fun because I'm listening to them, that my family loves and supports me, my friends who'd do anything for me and for this board and finally getting to meet so many of you people this year. Minus a couple things, this has been the best year I've had in a long time.

i am thankful for A LOT this year... moreso than in other years i think.
first.. to Ron and Fez.. for being the show that got me through the hardest times this past year... without them i would not have the wonderful friends i have met through the boards . and i might not have found the love i have been waiting for my entire life. so Thank You Ron and Fez ....
second... to my mom for making her presence known in little ways. and one very big way.
this past year has been rough... to say the very least. and Thanksgiving marks one year since the end of our journey together. but i am never without her love.
third... thankful for my family and friends. for the fun, the laughs, the support, and understanding. even in the littlest ways....
and of course, to my TonyBagels... for completing my puzzle.
Life is a blessing to be appreciated every day.
I'm most thankful for Chris' avatar.
I'm also thankful for not being dead, dying, unemployed, poor, homeless, married or a parent.

This is a swell idea!
I am thankful for so much.
Friends that will listen when you think no one will.
Lovers that will hug you and make you feel like the only person that ever mattered to them.
Family for being the ONLY constant in life.
Music for touching me where Gvac promised he would.
The Japanese for keeping me employed.
The Yankees for always making their season exciting, even if they don't win in the end.
Stop and Shop for selling affordable spring water in mass quantities.
The United States!
For making so many incredible mistakes and still managing to be the greatest place to live on the planet.
And to Ron and Fez and RonFez.net for being the place I can always call home.
Love you guys!
2008 here I come!

I am thankful that my wife's sister resurfaced a few months ago after taking off three years ago in Honolulu. She moved back in with my wife's mom and they reconciled their differences. They just moved back here to the mainland this past week. It is a great thing for my wife to have at least part of her family back together and close by. I didn't even care that their moving boxes were piled in front of my computer preventing me from creating a pithy entry for the Sleeves photoshop contest. That's the kind of sacrifice a guy like me makes.

ya know what, a couple of other people pointed that out to me too.
Baseball is the only sport I watch, and this time of year is downright depressing. However:
Youre right, of course. I am thankful for Terry Francona, Theo Epstein and the entire roster of the Boston Red Sox!! They may occasionally look like a ragtag collection of idiots, but theyre the classiest group of guys in the league...and of course, as they proved once again this year; THE BEST!
I'm also thankful that E-rod is staying in New York.
And that Mikey Lowell is staying in Boston, at third, as God intended.

(In case you missed the other thread...)
Well, it was a pretty crazy year for a lot of us in the RonFez.net family. New careers, new challenges. Weddings, divorces, funerals, odd maladies, loosing vital organs, etc.
But all in all, we all came through pretty well.
I know I personally owe part of that to the loyal and compassionate support we have for each other. It does mean quite a bit to me. And for that, I am thankful.
I've got a Great wife. I couldn't ask for better kids. Nice house, a job that allows posting all day.
Well, count your blessings, be thankful for what you do have.
Happy Thanksgiving.

If one doesn't like wasting electricity during the warmer months. That same one must also have some sort of dissociative disorder when it comes to taking care of menial tasks like draining a hot tub or scooping dead frogs.

On a serious note, I'm sorry to hear about your test results, but you're man enough to fight this and win. My prayers are with you, gvac, and if I can help you in anyway with your treatments, call me. You're a very brave man, and I'm proud to call you friend.
