What's the point of Thanksgiving? How did it come about? And is it just me? Or is this a silly holiday? The way I see it you shouldn't stop once a year to give thanks. You should do it every day...you know kind of like Valentine's Day...you shouldnt show someone you love them one day out of the year, but everyday. I just dont get it. Why can't we give thanks everyday? Is there anyone out there that does this?

i believe it had something to do with pilgrims and indians...just a day to eat some good food and get off work and watch football...unless you have to travel far...then its a pain in the ass

ALL holidays mean nothing to me other than the fact that the ones i get off from work for and still get paid for the day

They still teach this in elementary school, don't they?

Well FDR set the date officially but it had been a national holiday before that since Washington's time. Really its just an excuse to get together with family and friends for most. From what my friends have told me this is when their siblings have come out, we think that because its before christmas they will be able to gauge a reaction of the family. I just enjoy the gluttony every year.

Lincoln made it a Holiday as we know it today (4th Thursday of November) but Washington who was the first to give it some thought and talk about it openly.

Not in Colorado, apparently.

Lets all get together and have a thanksgiving pageant for kewlkat.
We can use Reilly's barn; Amy and Ando can make the costumes, and Gaia (remember Gaia? sigh...) can do the sets!

Well, it was a pretty crazy year for a lot of us in the RonFez.net family. New careers, new challenges. Weddings, divorces, funerals, odd maladies, loosing vital organs, etc.
But all in all, we all came through pretty well.
I know I personally owe part of that to the loyal and compassionate support we have for each other. It does mean quite a bit to me. And for that, I am thankful.
I've got a Great wife. I couldn't ask for better kids. Nice house, a job that allows posting all day.
Well, count your blessings, be thankful for what you do have.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for Hottub. He does a lot of the heavy lifting here and is a good egg to boot. Have a great Thanksgiving bud.

Snoogans, we're not celebrating the death and forced relocation of our new neighbors/victims.

We're celebrating that WE won.
