Those are great! My wasted talent would be my piano playing, although I did teach piano for years and I have done some low level performing. I've been playing since I was 4 years old.

I used to play out a lot and recorded a good amount of original tunes in a 'studio'. I got a few write-ups in the Miami Herald but for the last two years, I haven't followed my bliss at all and it kills me.
Every year I vow that this will be the year that I finally start my all-acoustic band, and I've yet to do it.
That's gonna change.

my wife thinks that i've let my drawing gone to waste, but i really don't have the chops apart from a really good doodling
i try to keep a camera on my for a great pic or two, i have my firstborn due in a month so i'll have plenty of snapshot to take and tweak
i've used the computer to channel most of my creativity these days ... mostly for work projects

I don't know if it's exactly "gone to waste" per se, but in high school and college I used to sing.
Now, if my high school choral music instructor hadn't brought up my uncle who taught music at the middle school, maybe I'd have had a bit more confidence in my abilities.
As a result of my audition, I became a part of two extra-curricular ensembles in high school (an all-women's ensemble and a mixed-voice ensemble) that tackled very challenging music (imagine high school kids tackling F.J. Haydn, German Romantics, Benjamin Britten, Gregorian chant, Arnold Schoenberg, Charles Ives and other challenging composers on a regular basis...my freshman year of college, I hung out with a ton of music majors who were stunned that my high school mixed ensemble had done a piece they were struggling with for their spring concert - in competition, when I was 16) . . .
I never auditioned for anything beyond the spring musical, despite having friends tell me I should audition for Region and All-State chorus.
I can read music well enough to plunk out my voice part on the piano, but not much beyond that . . . which basically means I read one note at a time on the treble clef.
In college, I auditioned for the women's ensemble and the mixed-voice chorus at the music school and made it into the women's ensemble.
I haven't done anything on that scale since.
Sometimes I really miss the level of musicianship and the commitment to high standards of all three groups, because I don't have a lot of that in my life right now.
Other times, I remember how many rehearsals in high school where I left in tears because I it had gone so badly and I was trying so hard to feel like I was actually in that rehearsal room under my own talents and not because my godfather taught music at the middle school.
I don't know if I really want to do it again, mostly because the folks who continue at the level I crave are pretty much professionals . . . and professional ensembles that welcome ameteurs are really hard to come by!

I used to play Bass (fiddle & electric) and the Baritone Horn, but it has been years since I did so.
I am kind of ashamed I let it slide - I spent about 15 years playing and now I don't play at all. :wallbash:

I used to be a hell of a trumpet player. Used to handle all the solos in HS. Rocked the house during our Beatles Medley. I have been wanting to get back into it forever, even bought a practice mute as to not disturb the neighbors, but I never find the time.

What does this bass have, 20 strings?
I've owned a couple of Acoustic basses and never liked the sound of them. I'd much rather have a solid and really lay down the low end.
I've owned a Washburn AB20 and a Chambered Allen Woody Sig Bass...both were nice, but not my cup of tea.
Perhaps we need to take this conversation over to TALKBASS.com (http://talkbass.com)
I've really let my painting talent go to waste...I've done some murals for a couple friends over the years...But I'd love to get back to Acrylics and Gouche.

Christ, I'm depressed thinking about how many!
Writing. I used to write for a local newspaper but stopped when it went defunct.
Drawing cartoons. I used to fill books with the stuff but now only do an occasional doodle. I've really lost it.
Painting watercolors. My parents have some framed on their walls but I haven't picked up a brush in 15 years.
Playing guitar. I wasn't great, but it was fun to play a few songs. I can't even remember chords now.
Maybe I'll get some of these back when I teach my daughter stuff when she's older.

Christ, I'm depressed thinking about how many!
I got all choked up when I was typing mine out, too.
All the insecurities and the fact that it's been years since I did anything came flooding in. OUCH!

Honey, I love you very much and I love when you sing. One of the first times I realized I was totally in love with you is when you sang Son of a Preacher Man at a RF karaoke night.
You haven't let it go to waste; it's still there. You just need the proper encouragement to put that mic in your hand.

Karaoke is more like singing in the shower, without the water and the nudity.

Most on this board would say my skills in comedy have long ago siezed up in a rusted hulk.
But seriously...ba dum bum!
I used to be a mean trumpet player and singer. I was too shy to sing in public, and I didn't take the trumpet seriously so both talents are no more.

I've passed up on the cartooning since it was kind of dragging and going to shit. Kind of lost the fire for it since nothing was really inspiring me anymore.
Still being artistic though and I've jumped into photography a bit. I'm just fascinated at the decay of civilization to a certain extent. What once was swarming with people and where lives have changed is now just a hollow shell of concrete.

i'd say football and baseball
i still play a little guitar and helped my daughter Michele learn a few things. she recently wrote three beatiful tunes which she plays and sings on her own. recorded one so far on my boss recorder, just have to figure out how to get it on the puter to burn
the oldest daughter is a very good softball player and has a good bunch of college scouts interested in her. as she began playing i used to get on her case, she would be out in the field biting her nails which drove me crazy. i knew she had the talent but i saw she was lacking the concentration and she didn't realize she had the talent. now we talk about the days i got upset and she realizes why...
like to think they got these skills from me. they both excel in their schoolwork but i have to give those props to their mother...

Guitars (electric, acoustic, bass) I wasn't great, but I think I had potential.
Drums. people said that I was pretty good, now play for church.
Fly-fishing. this is my #1 passion. I went out in the spring for the first time in 2 years and was very humbled.
I have a family now which is great, but it is not the same as being proficient in these activities.

music- didnt have a musical urge for the first 11 years of being clean, but these last couple of years ive just been chomp'n at the bit. so ive been putt'n a list of songs together (western , motown, and contemporary acustic) ill take it to the street corner and tear it up.... see what happens. be more than happy to share the corner w/ a horn section.

I gave up 1AA offers for football to go to a big college and have fun (rutgers) I wouldnt trade it b/c college was a great time, but I still wonder what my life would have been if I played at sacred heart or wagner. Uncle rico talk aside - coaching somewhere would have been much more realistic now, but instead I chose to drink at the rut and take a job in finance.

Also, I used to do architectural drafting. The addition on my cabin, I designed.
Never followed up with that but I want to build furniture so I might get back into the latter.
