Are your people as fucking sick of Adam Sandler's annoying song about this holiday as mine are?
And seriously, like Santa isn't rediculous enough.
WHAT is the deal with Hanukkah Harry?

All of my friends called them kippot and not yarmulkes.
(According to Wikipedia, kippah is Hebrew and yarmulke comes from Polish. That makes sense as to why my friends didn't use yarmulke. . . they weren't Polish! Although 85% of them were Ashkenaz, they were Hungarian and Dutch. The other 15% were Sephardi - Israeli and Syrian.)
Had my friends not used "kippah" over "yarmulke," I would not have been able to remember the Yiddish word for head (kopf, like German, or sometimes keppie, like my roommate used to say. )
(Yes, I am a goy and I took Yiddish in college. For fun. And learned to write a little Hebrew. The result of which is that I am an honorary Jewess.)
And my roommate Dit made the BESTEST latkes for Hanukkah. She got the recipe from her Ima and her Bubbe.
I could go for a latke right about now. . .Happy Chanukkah!
