i agree...i also am a really big animal person and thought it was disgusting...but the reality is they were animals...i've heard of people getting less than what he got for killing a person while driving drunk

It's amazing to me how much he apparently cares for his mother, both of them for that matter. They sit there and hold their mother, consoling her as her heart is broken. They should have thought of that before they both did stupid shit. She's 0for2 with stand up children. Well done!

Before his arrest the avg sentence for dog fighting was probation. He got arrested and the laws changed. They wanted to make an example of him to stop dogfighting all together. I hope dogfightng stops, but it wont.

I really hate how the media, like everything has turned this into a race thing, but beyond it all, he deserved what he got. Do tons of others get away with horrible crimes, yeah, but he didnt and now he's paying the price. In his favor, when he gets out he will def be signed by a team. He got twenty three months for dog fights, animal cruelty and gambling. All three are illegal and all have minor sentences when standing alone. Add all three up and add into his testing positive while being on probation, oh and also not being 100% cooperative with law officials. Let's also reduce the sentences of rapists if they don't rape anybody in prison.

I don't give a shit that his crime, in your mind, was less severe than a rape or a murder but what I do care about is that he was sentenced by a judge a put away for the term that was agreed upon.

Not sure why his comparison to rapists and murderers is so off base being as though he's doing time with just those sorts of people. He's not at some country club prison with tax evaders.

Apparently the justice system thinks his crimes were bad enough to warrant him serving his 23 months in a federal prison so he should be associated with those criminals regardless of there severity of their crimes.

So by your logic, since you find the murderers and rapists analogy too far of a stretch. since he hasn't killed any dogs or gambled on the killing of any dogs since he's been put away he should get out early ?

My next point would exactly be that he wasn't sent to prison for a drug problem so that shouldn't have any brearing on when he's released.

That's why I actually think this is a good idea that should be applied to other "non-serious" crimes, especially those that are drug related. Our piss poor drug policy is reflected in how easy it is to get drugs into prison and for them to be used there. This could very easily be something that actually is very pro-active in keeping convicts off drugs while in jail.

I agree that it has it's place and probably would be a somewhat effective was to help at leats those who wanted help but it shouldn't be used in this case.

I hope the state of Virginia's watching this and takes whatever happens into consideration when they decide to file their charges.

The federal attorneys were big on saying that they didn't like the idea of the state undermining their plea deal by bringing more severe charges but if they let this guy out 11 months into this sentence then they have undermined the state's right to justice.

If this is the case then let the state do what the feds failed to do.

no he will shorten his sentence by going to treatment for pot smoking. Not just for no smoking it.

Im glad he may get out early. He should never have received 2 years in the first place. He was being made an example of. I dont like it when celebs get over because of their celebrity but I also dont think its fair to over sentence someone because they are a celeb.
