View Full Version : snow...
Finally done. I shoveled out 16 inches of wet heavy snow of my driveway which is about 60 feet long and 9 foot wide. Also down 1 and a 1/2 trees.
I can't wait for those summer snowblower sales or to get a pickup with a plow.. My back is killing me.

...
On the drive in today I must have passed 10-15 cars of lazy asses who didn't clear the snow off the roof of their car. Come on people, let's get with it.
I hate it when people do that.
The freakin' Turnpike had a sign reminding people to clear the snow and ice from their car the other day ... and I saw a douche with VA plates and 2' of crap on their Toyota going 50mph in a 65 zone with dry pavement.
Oh how I wished for a battering ram on my PT Cruiser ...

I saw a bunch of people pulled over on the turnpike getting tickets for that this morning. It made me smile.

Morons!!! Some rich guy in the DC area hired a crew to remove the snow from his roof. They used PROPANE TORCHES!!! (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/16/AR2010021603866.html)
The two-story house, which contained artwork and antiques, was badly burned. All told, officials estimated about $1.5 million in damage, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AROUND THE START OF RUSH HOUR THURSDAY MORNING THEN CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY. CURRENTLY EXPECT THE STEADIEST AND HEAVIEST SNOW TO FALL FROM MID MORNING THURSDAY THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING. THE SNOW WILL THEN GRADUALLY BECOME LESS STEADY AND LIGHTER INTO FRIDAY... BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO LIGHT SNOW OR SNOW SHOWERS BY FRIDAY EVENING.
FOR NOW EXPECT ACCUMULATIONS TO RANGE FROM 12 TO 18 INCHES... WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE... ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF ORANGE... PASSAIC... AND BERGEN COUNTIES.

Already made the decision to work remotely today and tomorrow. Boss doesn't care and rumor has it the office is a ghost town.
Staying off the roads in weather like this makes me more comfortable, especially with all the dopes out on the road in dry weather.
The only drawback is having a doc's appointment tomorrow that may be postponed depending on how bad the roads are.

Good for you. I wish I would've. I just made it home in time to salt the driveway and login to work. Monmouth County roads are getting pretty bad.

I'm pregnant and will be on leave starting Wednesday; everybody understands when I call out "wuss."
Doesn't Monmouth Cty have a flood watch in effect 'til tonight too?

Its windy, cold, and icy. It's also very beautiful out, I was driving this over Todt Hill which is a
very tree lined road lined with big, some nice some eh houses. The snow covered everything and with it still falling it created such a nice, quiet, serene, atmosphere.

Ahhhh, the tender family moments; constructing a gigantic snow-penis in the front yard. You've got yourself a great family photo, Pop.
And just look at that Creep Father ---- he has the whole family resting precariously on the bottom of the shaft near where the sack would connect.
I hope they blow this up and put it over the mantle.
