I never understand how people get mad when english speaking Americans only understand english so they ask customers to order in English? well it has made a bunch of urban blacks, rural whites, immigrants SUPER lazy, and they dont have to worry about starving, cause the govt will buy them food.

Welfare allows people to sit around and eat, sleep, do drugs, smoke cigarettes, and drink beer. ANYONE receiving public assistance should be prohibited from drinking, smoking, and drug tested weekly.

It is his establishment, and he has the right to deal with customers any way he chooses. As a free market person, I believe that if he had blundered in his decision, and the community turned on him, he'd be out of business by now. He has been doing this for almost a year now, and it seems that the community is supporting him.

Wow, Internet Warz!

On one hand, earthbrown has stated a truth: before welfare, there were millions of people who came here to America and scratched out a living, and without government assistance at all.

And epo has brought up the fact that Americans were sick and tired of seeing these people's children die from preventable diseases such as the flu, and pressured the government to do something about it.

While there will be always fraud and waste with any government program, whether or not it is meant to help the poor or whatever, there are many people who have benefited and then went on to be successful taxpaying Americans.

As a conservative, I would just want the concentration of efforts to be used to make these programs more efficient, because most Americans who are mad at welfare, aren't mad that starving Mexicans are being saved to somehow take over the Southwest, they are mad at the cost of the programs, how many programs are redundant, and that the money collected from revenues don't all go to pay for health care and food stamps, that a lot of it goes to the politicians' freinds in businesses that make a more then fair profit providing services that help the poor and needy.

As a landscaper, I have employed several hispanics over the years. If they have problems with communication, I immediately make every effort to get them enrolled in english classes, and I harp on them constantly that like it or not, speaking english will be the first and most important step to being a productive member of this society. Also 50% of the cars in parking have rims of some sort, and there were a handfull of nice cars, including Cadillacs.

Maybe, if the fathers of the children paid their child support the women wouldn't need to be on welfare. Maybe, the woman in the suburban was the wife of a military veteran who was disabled in a war serving our country and the car was purchased prior to falling on hard times. NO it is a fact that almost 200,000 anchor babies are born PER YEAR in the USA. The childs immediate citizenship entitles them to food, clothing, and shelter.

PRWORA which replaced AFDC in 1997, provides provisions for benifits to the immediate family of a citizen.

Okay, you have had some personal negative experience in this situation. Why does it give you the right to then project those experiences onto the entire system and/or race of peoples? I'm not going to take my positive experience and thereby declare the program perfect, that's ridiculous. A lot of good can be done with any number of assistance programs, and there will always be a contingent of peoples waiting to take advantage of it and milk it for all it's worth. I don't think scrapping the program is a feasible solution.
