In 2 weeks on RBR, we are doing a very special year end episode. It will feature the current Fatal Four of myself, William R. Washington, Paul Griffin and Jason Gallop along with the 2 original other members of the Fatal Four, Anthony Skatz and Michael Z. It's an RBR Reunion as the Fatal Six gets together to discuss the year that was 2007 in professional wrestling. This show will feature the six of us talking about our favourite things this year, but we also want to know what the fans think. So the voting will be open to everybody, starting now and ending at some point during the week of our final show. You have until then (I will make a post that lets you know when voting is over) to get in your votes for seven categories, and the winners will be announced on the air on Saturday night, December 29, 2007 at 8PM est on RBR. There are no set choices that you must choose from, either. You can simply make your choice, and the one that people vote for the most in each category will be the winner. Also, we would be very grateful if you would give explanations for some of your votes. This isn't necessary for every category, but we would appreciate explanations where necessary. If you want, you can tell us why you chose what you chose for all of the categories.
CATEGORIES
- Match of the Year
This one is simple. What's your favourite match of the year? Which one do you personally think is the best? It can be from any company. WWE, TNA, ROH, PWG, NOAH -- anywhere.
- Wrestler of the Year
Which wrestler do you think had the best year in 2007? Who consistently had the best matches, promos -- who entertained you the most in 2007?
- Show of the Year
Which show was the best this year? This applies to events, which means individual PPVs, generally. This is not an award where you vote for RAW, SmackDown, ECW, Impact or WSX as the best show of the bunch. Vote for which show you liked the best, be it this year's WrestleMania, Backlash, or Bound For Glory or Lockdown. If you watch independent wrestling, maybe your favourite show was Fifth Year Festival: Finale or Respect is Earned. You can choose any show.
- Biggest Disappointment
Were you really hyped up for something this year only for it to fall short? It could be a match that you were expecting to be great, but it ended up having a lot of blown spots or only getting a very short amount of time. Maybe it was a PPV that had a very strong card but failed to deliver in match quality. Maybe it's a wrestler that you expected to have a really big year that ended up doing nothing special. Maybe it was a big announcement such as TNA getting a 2 hour show but still not fixing the problems that you expected would be fixed. What disappointed you the most this year?
- Most Misused Wrestler(s) of the Year (Under pushed)
Is there a wrestler that you think should have gotten a better push? This is the category where you get to tell us who you think was used very poorly even though they had the potential to be great. It could be somebody like Samoa Joe that TNA simply won't give the title to. Maybe it's Paul London & Brian Kendrick, a tag team that had a long title reign on SmackDown only to move to RAW and become jobbers who only show up on TV on extremely rare occasions. This vote can go to any one wrestler or tag team that you thought was not used to their full potential.
- Most Misused Wrestler(s) of the Year (Over pushed)
This is the same as the previous category, except here, tell us who you think got too big of a push. Who was used too much on shows, who was in a main event position that shouldn't have been, who got to be in a major role on television while other, more talented guys got to wrestle on Heat if they were lucky.
- Who to Look for in 2008
This isn't really about a guy who had a great year in 2007. This is about a guy who you think will become a break out star in 2008. It could be somebody like Jeff Hardy who may finally get that big push into the main event spotlight and become a true main event star in 2008. Maybe it's Kaz, who you think will get to shine in higher profile matches in 2008 and be a major player in TNA. Maybe it's Chris Jericho, who will be starting his first full calendar year back with WWE and you think he will be involved in some great matches and storylines. This is a category where you get to tell us who you think will be a guy that everybody will be talking about in 2008.
