I joined the cast of "11 Central Ave" (http://www.11centralave.com/) a family radio drama that's played on Friday/Saturday/Sunday during Morning Edition on a lot of NPR stations. The show's creator heard one of my stories at a conference in Chicago and asked me to "write myself" into her show.

Aside from being in the next few episodes, I wrote the upcoming 2. I think they start their rotations this Friday.

That is outstanding news Sleeves! Way to go Budday!

Do they offer a podcast/download or do you have to catch it on a local PBS station that carries the show?

Do us a favor. Leave some garlic in Bob Edward's coffin while you're in the NPR building.

all the episodes are available for dl at the 11centralave.com site...I don't know when she posts them...probably a day or so after they play...

I'm gonna try to get Bob Edwards to listen to R&F...

I'm gonna tape his coffin shut and make him listen to the R&F coffin show...

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of Sleeves being a success at everything he does.

I had 40 years of nothing - and now one year full of strange things. I blame Ron and Fez.

And I'm sick of it too.

I seriously spent the first 99% of my life just laying back in the weeds...I just never even tried to do anything cause I thought it was a lost cause. I thought the world would hand me my ass. So I just wrote in little journal books and played music on a four track and that was it.

thankee very much my old Bailey building and loan pals!

the first episode can be heard on the WBEZ live stream (http://wbez.org/Default.aspx) at 9:34 Eastern time I think...

Also if anyone listens to Day to Day (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=17), I did a piece in my normal voice on a guy who gives away Xmas trees that will air about 20 minutes into that show...

I got to say "For NPR News, this is Sean Hurley in New Hampshire"

am I ghey now?

I actually heard it live on the Connecticut NPR station... too cool!

You do need to work on perfecting a speech impediment if you ever want Daniel Shaw or Carl Castle’s job. Try about 3-4 marbles in your mouth…

Well done Mr. Sleeves-Hurley-something! ...now who's this Bob guy...

A Fierce Debate For Road Repairs (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=98392092)

"The snow coming down like a falling anesthesia", what a great image!

I could listen to Sleeve's voice all day long.
I wish he would make some children's songs and story telling productions... I think it's very soothing and would be awesome at bed time...

No no, I was just laughing that they had to put your real name in there, like Ron likes to do to Fez on air. Can't they just let you use your pen name and leave some stuff up to the mystique that is Sleeves?

No I was just jokin back. They're pretty serious about reality on the old Pub Radio stations.

If they could they'd explain it all at the beginning - in the middle, and then once again at the end that there's man behind a curtain...

Hmmmm, they need to loosen up a little, especially when they are allowing someone to write some observations, just let the persona take over.
