View Full Version : Does anyone use water beds anymore?

I think the last time I was in one was 1989. I've never owned one, but I've used a couple of them for "experiences" with past girlfriends and future ex-wives. Is there anything more difficult than doggy style in a water bed? Not to mention, waking up in one when the power to the heater goes out.

So... Do water beds even exist anymore?

A normal waterbed goes like this "kushkushkush", lots of waves. This one doesnt have any waves.

True...since I was never on an aircraft carrier.

MrsG0404 and I have had a water bed for about 12 years.
It is a king size frame with 2 separate mattresses so the sloshing is kept to a minimum.

The only problem with doing it doggie style is that it doesn't happen enough. The newer waterbeds have baffles inside to calm the movement.

It is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.

I was dating a girl several years ago that had one of the new water beds and it was really nice. No weird wooshing sounds and very little additional movement.

I would think about getting one, but most apartment complexes won't let you get one due to possible leaks. Maybe if/when I get a house...

A couple relatives had waterbeds, one was pretty comfy and firm. I slept on a waterbed once, in a hotel, not so comfy or firm

the only time I was lucky enough to sleep o a waterbed was the Loop which was a seedy 4 Hour place to bang, came in handy when you had strict parents who wouldn't let you use your house

they were fun

I don't know anyone who actually owned one

I have had a 7foot round (octagonal?) water bed now for over 10 years and would not part with it!! The heat is adjustable, and it is so very comfortable. It was actually made in the 60s shortly after a Bond movie came out I think... wonderful bed... but yes, certain positions could be hard to achieve lol. :innocent: I wouldn't trade it for anything, and just hope the mattress never wears out!

All I remember of the one time I slept on one was waking up in the middle of the night with the sheets displaced and my skin stuck to the cold rubber 'mattress'.

One drawback is they are not kind when you've had too much to drink

I had one when I was a teenager. It was most awesome until, like some of you guys have already said, the heater went out. There is no way to get warm on a broke down waterbed!

What was more awkward? When she saw you having sex with her brother, or the fact that his water bed was in the gym?

Best sleep I ever got was in a Waterbed ,had one until about a year and a half ago...turn that heater up to 99 degrees in the winter and turn it off in july.I got a bad back and it is the best for injuries.3 hours in a good waterbed is equal to 6 ofr 7 hours in a reg bed.,

I remember when I was 8 or 9 my best friends mom managed a bunch of upscale bedding stores. She decided to get everyone in her family a water bed. I remember going to the stores often with him and even back then at a young age you could tell the difference between a good one and shitty one. If I remember correctly you could choose different levels of "firmness"? Some felt like you floating in a pool on a raft and some were firm and you barley moved but felt great!

Anyway I never bought myself one, by the time I was old enough to buy my own bed they were out of stores! but still remember how great they were. But I guess it all depended on how much the quality.
