Well, with all that is going on in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, not much has been reported on North Korea. Well, here's an update (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7166532.stm)from the BBC:
Since the landmark disarmament deal was agreed in February, North Korea has closed its main reactor at Yongbyon. Steps are currently underway to permanently disable it.
But the second stage of the process - a written declaration providing a complete account of all Pyongyang's nuclear activities - has proved more problematic.

Well, if nothing else, it delays their nuclear program a few years. They've been doing this for a long time, develop their nuclear abilities, accept money from the U.S. to stop, wait a while and start again. Then they accept more money from the U.S. to stop, wait a while and start again.
It's a big game but I guess it's serving it's purpose. I suppose the hope is to eventually have an Eastern European style massive uprising and have the government overthrown. Of course, things don't work the same way in Asia as they do in Europe. Or at least a Chinese style embrace of Capitalism without Democracy.

Why he could charm the birds out of their trees ...
if the birds know what's good for them , that is.

What birds? His people probably ate them in order to keep from starving to death.
