I had dinner at a friend's father's house last year. His oddly specific brand of hospitality involves keeping many different brands of soda on hand so as to be able to quench a myriad of thirsts. I was rooting deep in the Amana CoolMaster and I found this little beaut- off the market for 13 years, but chilled and ready. This is a 13 year old aluminum can. I am pretty sure it had alzheimer’s. IN 1992, EVERYBODY WANTED EVERYTHING TO BE CLEAR. CLEAR MEANS PURE. EVEN IF IT’S DONE WITH CHEMICALS AND ALIEN DNA.

Of course, no-one wanted it, not anymore than anyone wanted it when it hit the market in the first place. And thus, it survives. In Lake Oswego, Oregon.

To Heather8: I stockpiled Coke Blak when it came out, I have a few 4 packs left, I will savor them in the next few years as I remember the goodness that was the second coming of Pepsi Kona. I also have a single can left of Pepsi Holiday Spice from a few years ago, I want to hold on to that one for a while. I still wish I had kept a few bottles of Pepsi Blue when that was around. It sucked but I really miss it now.

Loved the pepsi Kona it lasted for about a year (92?). It was around just long enough to get me hooked and then they pulled it and left me cursing out the guys in 7-eleven.
