My woman and I were talking about taking a vacation together, probably in the summer time. Any suggestions where a dollar can be stretched? I am saving to buy a condo so I dont want to break the bank, but at the same time id like to get out of NY for a few days. I was thinking about one of those all inclusives. How are they?

An All Inclusive is cheap esp to Punta Cana, you got to catch cheap air fare or it can be pricey
cruises in March and April for 5 days are under $400 from Fl, a $150 flight from Newark or JFK, and you are there for under $500 pp
out of NY in May you can get a cruise for $700 with no air for 8 days
in June to Cananda New England a 4 or 5 day cruise for $500-$600
if you are looking for June July and Aug, they are peak season, hard to get cheap rates

Cruise to the southern Caribbean. I love cruises especially one with a couple of days at sea going and coming. We are thinking about a 14-day out of Tampa in March. Dunno though, 10-day is the most we've done.
I haven't been on a vacation in almost 2 years. I need one badly.
I want palm trees, sun, but somewhere not excessively hot or humid. I want to drink gay cocktails with little umbrellas in them.

I'm a big fan of Cozumel, Mexico. You can see the lights of Cuba at night sometimes. I've done two all inclusives there and they were both nice. Sol Melia and another one I can't think of the name of right now but I will and post it. I've done a Sandal's in the Bahamas as well. It was nice.

Went on a cruise to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands last summer. It was a lot of fun.
I don't think it was too expensive either.
For anybody with a little more cash, the eurotrip is a great experience. London, Paris, Brussels.
Everyone should see the Mona Lisa once.

Hippo is right on the Punta Cana call. I went there to an amazing place all inclusive for the same price as Aruba not all inclusive.
The place I went to in Punta was Excellence, formerly Secrets, and every room had a jaccuzi and the porn channels as part of it. The pools were amazing, service great and the weather awesome. Funny enough, we went Memorial Day (up to it at least) and it was well worth it. The big plus there for me was the ocean there is great, waves, not just a fucking tub. I had a ton of fun riding waves, getting smashed, and playing the sports they run everyday. They run volleyball (on beach and in pool), Bocce, water polo (fucking awesome) and so much more. Oh yah, it's a no kid resort with a club in house, that ruled.
If your into this and need some advise, feel free to PM.

i started looking for a vacation myself. i was looking at either florida for a few days or new orleans. i've been to both before (new orleans 3 years ago; florida longer). the pros for new orleans included bourbon street, the pros for florida are spring training baseball. what should i do? (should this be in 'ask the oracle'?)

Personally I favor FLA, just based on the location alone, and now that you added spring training it's over. Yet, I've never been a NO fan so take that into consideration. Still, a visit there is also good for the area, but I'm not sure how up to speed it really is right now.

Lancaster Pennsylvania is nice little vacation. But then again, I'm lame. But there are a few wineries out that way in the Susquehanna river valley, and that's all Mrs. Bandit and I need. We have a problem.

Not a bad two-nighter trip at all. Good wineries and other random things to do. That's a cool part of PA to visit. Went to school in York, PA so I got to explore that area pretty well. Pretty country. Good day-hiking/fishing/camping area too.

Now, don't knock it until you try it. Aside from the gas, camping is pretty cheap. You have to eat anywhere and you can cook your meals. Campgrounds are, at the most, $50. You'll never get a hotel for $50.
Just a thought.
We've gone across country twice in campers.

Punta Cana is nice (I've been there) but you can't leave your respective compound. Its not that safe once you leave the pristine surrounding of your resort.
So, try something like Eluthra in the Bahamas. Your chick will love the pink sand and its affordable.
