I read your blog and just try not to get too overwhelmed. This may sound cliche but everything will come together the way you need them to. Just may not come together when you want them to.

With our first child we were uber prepared and everything went fine. A few bumps here and there, but overall fine. With our second we didn't do shit and everything went better than the first time. Although we were used to having a baby, we were not used to the caring for a different sex.

I'm excited for you!

we don't have a diaper genie, we have the diaper champ, but the basic idea is the same (except it's just one big bag inside the cylinder [you use regular tall kitchen garbage bags], not the tiny, connected ones). we love it and have no issues with any smells (granted we also just hit two months). for the people who didn't like the genie, are you folding up your diapers and sealing them with the leg straps or just letting the crap flop around loose? also, are you breast feeding or bottle? breast feeding = much, much less stinky poop.
