Reading my original post it sounds snobbish [what else is new] but I was referring to age gap; not sure when the last time I read any Breslin; 90s? probably not even that late. But man, in the day he was the voice of the city, for me anyway.

I only caught a few minutes in and out of my stores today.. Just a couple quick comments because I haven't been able to read the whole thread yet so I'm sorry if I repeat something someone else said. I tried calling in on this but my phone died (tough day!);

1. The HBO contract with the NFL has elapsed and they would not renew it because they want to give the show to the NFL Network (which of course isn't available through my cable provider):thumbdown:

2. Why can't R+F make a trade with O+A giving them BXJohnny in exchange for an extra hour of airtime, or at least one extra replay over the course of the day. :thumbup: (obviously, they don't have control over this totally, but I think some backroom deals need to start happening)

I am not sure if they WANT and extra hour right now. I don't presume to know what they think or want, but you could assume that Ron & Fez have enough pull to get another hour if they wanted it.

The replay issue, on the other hand, has been argued far and wide. Many of us have clamored for at least a 9pm-12am replay slot, but no dice so far.

I wish that the great Jimmy Breslin had had more time today. It kind of made me mad that one of the all time great New York characters had to cut short a really interesting story so some reality show douche could ask questions about steroid freaks in tights.

Their show definitely doesn't kick O+A's asses in the ratings, but you have to look at the shows and compare. O+A is meant more for the meathead-tough guy type of person that is similar to a Stern fan. R+F cater more to people that like to interact with the show and/or like to hear brilliant commentary by the genius Ronnie B. Not that O+A doesn't offer quality laughs most of the time, I just wish they wouldn't stoop to the level of Stern and have to get chicks naked and doing shit for the listeners.. I still don't understand how that is good "RADIO"

No way. I don't think Jimmy is a good fit at all with the Ron and Fez show. Love or hate ESD, he brings energy to the show and a lot of passion, and does things Jimmy would never do (such as getting peed on or wrestling or getting his head shaved, etc).
