Mobile Usernames

I have seen a few people logging in with "mobile" usernames or "at work" usernames. Essentially it's your username but mobile or at work.

Example:

scottinnj mobile

scottinnj at work


Is this just etiquette, a proper way to let people know where you are?

The reason I am asking, is I just got a smartphone, and can post no matter where. Would it be in bad taste to make a "scottinnj mobile?" Or should I just use my regular name.

The only reason I created "GvacMobile" is because I'm not in a WiFi area most of the day so my phone is set to not load pictures or embedded videos.

When I get home and log in under "Gvac" I can then click "New Posts" and have the threads I visited under my mobile account still show up as unread.

It's all very silly, really.
