Simply put.
My boyfriend and i are looking to set out on a adventure in the next year or so.
I'm trying to find a site that will show us everything we need to know about where we'd prefere to go (Central Europe) but we want to try and avoid anything that involves tours(for now or unless we find a really really excellent one).
Thanks!

Trip Advisor.
http://www.tripadvisor.com/
The forums are awesome and are pretty much all I ever use, every place on Earth has it's own dedicated forum and they all have "Local Experts" for each place to tell you where to go and what to do to experience the real place you are going to, not just the tourist traps.

Ninny, just in case you have Jezo on ignore, he recommended Trip Advisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com) and I agree with him. TA is a great site and gave us a great time when we went to Hawaii and other places, and I'm sure they have great advice for Europe too.

I found that site extremely aggravating to navigate around.

The forums do suck a fat cock, but there's a lot of good info on there.
