View Full Version : What Shows Would You Like to Hear on the Next Night of 100 Podcasts?

If Ron & Fez stage another night of 100 podcasts, which shows would you like to see be given a slot?
I think I would like to hear an hour-long "Atoms, Motion & the Void" (http://www.radioghost.com) from Sleeves -- either an all new episode or an adaption of his stage production. It's certainly far different from any of the more traditional shows that aired or will air today, but there's no reason that there shouldn't be a wide variety of shows.
Who else?

Thank you very much. I agree with Stugots and Reggie but I think as far as I go, my talents are best suited for the screen. Can't speak for Dean though. I think I sound silly on the radio when I'm not promoting my own films. I wouldn't want to deprive you though. If you ever want to talk about movies, feel free to hit me up. :)

I like both of those suggestions. I'll add:
-The Radio Shark(probably the one i'd be most intersted to hear)
-Rap, Ronnie's friend from philly. Maybe get a few of those boys in to shoot that shit to sky
-The Billy Staples Show(might be trainwreck or there might be some gold in thar hills!)

Very generous for those who suggested me; I liked the idea of giving peopel who havent done any radio the chance to see...
...Just how long an hour is on the radio when its just you and a microphone. Ron makes it look easy; Ron has also been doing this for so long I doubt he realizes there's a microphone there. The masters of radio talk as if there is no radio show going on, it's so conversational, so effortless, so easy to say, so very difficult to do.
Talking to a group of people is the #1 phobia. Death is #2. Think about that. people are less afriad of dying then speaking in public, or into a Mic. TV? Forget it.
Deb [HTG], for fuck sake, was so stellar on CNN I sat there in awe; she has it, she can make it look easy, maybe it is for her, I'd be staring into the camera lens as you all yelled 'Baton Rouge!!! Baton Rouge!!!'
Wow, all this rambling to convey an hour is an eternity for people new to radio.
Suggestion to R+F show: Forget an hour, anyone who thinks theyu can do a show? Come in, and bring back the Ron and Fez walkouts.
I once had a string of these walkouts on audio, if you dont know, sometimes R+F will just leave the studio, usually when a producer/someone in the show says/suggests they could do radio alone. What happens, every time: R+F walk out, and you hear someone who is completely out of their element looking at a mic, and.... nothing. Beats me where the audio is here. Cant remember who they did this to, but it was a few times.
Anyway maybe not an hour; the person comes in, and see if they can last up to 15 mins alone in studio. No hi-jacking [unless they totally suck]. Hell make it 5 mins, thats also an eternity in radio for some. They come in with their idea for a show, R+RF leave, and its their show for 15 mins, or 5.
Desperation is an excellent motivator.

I miss that bit. Just about every intern in the WJFK days got that treatment on their way out. The last time I remember them doing the bit was when Fez returned from having bronchitis and took back his rightful place on the show (fighting through Bronx Johnny and Dave to get there) only to get left alone in the studio. It wasn't as great since Fez is an actual broadcaster and there was no awkward dead air, though he did get winded.

Love those bits. Here are a few:
10/22/01 - Frighty Fright Gets Left on the Air Alone: Frighty Fright, the intern, tries out his "Jim Shorts" character and gets left on the air alone (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2184)
5/6/04 - The Monster Show: On his last night with the show, Monster gets left on the air alone (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2142)
6/27/02 - the Rutger Hauer interview: Ron, Fez and Anthony interview Rutger Hauer in the studio. Rutger gets left on the air alone and gets calls from Iris and others. (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2151)
7/30/2002 - Wild Thing gets left on the air alone: After failing to sleep with Swiss Miss on the air, Wild Thing, the himbo intern, is left alone on he air (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2549)
December 16, 2004 - kid's shows part 2, Benicio gets left on the air alone (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2553)
April 26, 2005 - Bitz on the air alone (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2769)
Bitz, Frighty Fright and Rutger Hauer are my favorites.
