Banana daiquiris for everyone!

If I could only live to see it, to be there with you. What I wouldn't give for twenty more years! Here we are, protected, free to make our profits without Kefauver, the goddamn Justice Department and the F.B.I. ninety miles away, in partnership with a friendly government. Ninety miles! It's nothing! Just one small step . . . we're bigger than U.S. Steel.

Castro resigns as president, state-run paper reports (http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americas/02/19/castro/)

Fidel Castro announced his resignation as president of Cuba and commander-in-chief of Cuba's military on Tuesday, according to a letter published in the state-run newspaper, Granma.

Do you think George W is adding this to the plus column of his presidential career?

"I got rid of Saddam Hussein and Fidel Casto!"

GEORGE W. BUSH:
The international community should work with the Cuban people to begin to build institutions that are necessary for democracy, Eventually, this transition ought to lead to free and fair elections — and I mean free, and I mean fair — not these kind of staged elections that the Castro brothers try to foist off as true democracy.

You are correct sir. The Castro we know from the past 10 years is actually an animatronic model secretly purchased with Michael Eisner's permission from the Walt Disney Corporation. Castro's instructions are that upon his death, it will be the feature attraction in the new "Cuba" country that will be built in Epcot Center to commemorate his benevolant reign over his people.

BTW, you are my nomination for best thread title of the month. Obscure movie reference along with being relevant to the topic. Good Job!

For 40 years now we have heard that Castro was ill and on his last legs and finally he is stepping down.
We could have brought him and communism down there decades ago by normalizing trade and travel and hitting them with a tidal wave of Levis, VCRs, fast food and rock and roll.

Our Cuba policy has been stupid all along and I hope we will wake up with the next president....

Don't be jealous. Clever wordplay is an art that you have yet to perfect.

For example let me quote your last ten posts....

"My name is Hippo. Randy sucks, I am not a jinx, and I love bacon."

You have to diversify your comedic funds.

WuTang Clan ain't nothin to fuck wit.

Agreed. It's been as stupid as our North Korean and Iranian policies.

Scoff if you will.....but I believe you are 100% correct. Remember the reports over a year ago that he was in fact dead? And is it so far fetched to think that maybe this is why he is now "stepping down" I have no doubt that Castro had a series of doubles over the years, as did Hussain, and Quadaffi. Not as nutty as it seems.

I love how he is called "President"....

Must have missed the election.

If you google, Castro President, you get 8500 hits on google news...

If you google, Castro dictator, you get 2000 hits on google news....
