If you had to choose between living in 100 degree heat for the rest of your life or 20 degree winter weather, which would you choose? This includes inside the house temperature. What I mean is a constant temp throughout your life.

I've always said I prefer the cold to the heat, because you can always put on another layer to get comfortable, but non-stop of either would suck balls.
I'll go with.....the heat.
Was I right? What do I win?

I almost went with 20 because 20 degrees outside is kinda nice, but inside it would be hell. 100 degrees would be miserable, but at least I'd still be able to feel my fingers.

give me the 20 deg cold.
a) easier for me to keep warm than stay cool. i can always take off a layer of clothing if i get too warm, or put another layer on if i am cold.
b) the cold will help preserve me.
c) if its that hot, you dont want to eat anything heavy. in that heat, almost everybody turns into a salad and lite beer fag. i would love to see somebody eat a good stew or meatloaf and a guinness in 100+ heat.

I would take the heat and move to a nudist colony and sleep in a pool. Sex would really suck in the cold

Interesting question, mainly because of the ALL the time part.
I prefer winter to summer because its easier to stay warm/warm back up than it is to stay cool/cool down. I prefer the roar of a fireplace (or radiator) to the fake air of an air conditioner.
HOWEVER... if I had to choose one temperature which I could not recover from... I'd choose the 100 degrees. Naked women.

I generally like the cold weather more, but it would be a bitch to get fresh fruits and vegetables. I would get scurvy within a few months. I'm assuming if it is cold for me than it is cold everywhere else.

The "all the time" part doesn't make sense to me - it isn't realistic. As humans we can easily find ways to adapt to the temperature whether it's building a fire, creating a 'swamp cooler', etc.
If you change the premise to 20 degrees or 100 degrees but you can only use 'natural' heating or cooling methods, that makes it a much more realistic question. If you don't have central heat/air but you can still build a fire, it makes a world of difference.
Given that, I would go with cold. I am a lot more comfortable in cold weather.
However, if you maintain the ridiculous 'always the same temperature' concept, I would have to go with 100 degree temperatures. It's still miserable, but it's also a lot easier to survive in than extreme cold. Just try taking a bath or shower in 20 degree temperatures - it ain't happening.

But then you step outside of the hot tub/shower, and you are back in 20 degree temperatures. Damainer is maintaining a constant 20 degree temperature inside or outside. This implies that you can't alter the temperature of your residence, even temporarily.
That would be miserable.

Cold. And any of you who said heat would be screaming your parched, dry & dehydrated throat out for cold in a matter of days.
You can always bundle up.
Hot is hot, even when yer nekkid as a jaybird.

Very impressive for a 44 post guy to come up with a topic worthy of the show

Wasn't this same question extreme heat/cold question brought up on R&F a couple times in the last year?

If everything was 20 degrees you would die of thirst because water freezes at 32 degrees. I can't see anybody being able to melt enough ice in their mouths to keep themselves hydrated for very long.

You can get used to 100 fairly easily if it's dry heat. We get stretches of 100 for weeks on end during the summer, and it seems plain reasonable when the heat pops up to 110 for a day or two.
Also, women look better in 100 degree outfits than they do in 20 degree outfits.

I think I'd eventually get use to 100. I'd never get use to 20, and women wouldn't wear mini skirts.

give me heat.
during our 9 months of summer i deal with near 100 to well over 100 every day for 12-14 hours without ever really getting to cool off so i know i can deal with that.
fuck a big pile of 20 degrees, i want nothing to do with that

20 degrees can kill you in an hour...maybe less without the proper clothing. I would not want to go through life wearing a ski suit.
100 degrees will be uncomfortable, but not life threatening.
I'll take the heat.

It all depends. The discussion on the show today got weird, as Ron said that you couldn't even have a cold drink if you wanted it to always be 100 degrees, but then also told Fezzie that his drink wouldn't freeze if it was always 20 degrees. The discussion was sub par on a level where I was left unhappy because they didn't really try to discuss it with any details. Still funny, though.
For me, I'd go with the cold. I assume the deal would be that the conditions were always that it would just be 20 degrees wherever I am. Which means it will be 20 degrees in the house, outside, etc. But it wasn't specified that stuff would be 20 degrees, like the water in the shower would be 20 degrees, etc. 20 degrees would be fine. I could wear a lot of extra layers. Plus, the cold weather doesn't bother me too much.
Also, 20 degrees really isn't very cold. I hang out wearing a sweatshirt and jeans in 30 degree weather all the time. And that's including wind and whatnot. If it's just 20 degrees and there's no awful breeze (which is what makes the cold unbearable anyway), then it would be a fucking cake walk. A CAKE WALK. As it is I keep the heat off in my section of the house, so it's never more than 55 degrees in my bedroom. I can handle 35 degrees less as a constant.
Pansies, all of you, for thinking 20 degrees is cold. 20 degrees can kill you in an hour? On what fucking planet? Are you standing in the snow naked in a windstorm in 20 degrees? Because just plain old 20 degrees ain't gonna kill you unless you're fucking feeble.
EDIT: I just went outside and stood out there for about 5 minutes in my t-shirt and shorts. It's 21 degrees here right now and there was a pretty good breeze going. And I was pretty comfortable. Without the breeze and with a sweatshirt, it would have actually been pretty nice.
Also, as far as the women thing, although I did say I had a problem with the discussion about this topic on the show, they did bring up that it would only be cold to you, not to everybody. So the seasons would change like normal for everyone else. It wouldn't effect the women and always be cold for them. It would be 85 degrees out for the rest of say, NYC if you live there, but it would feel like 20 to you. Although Jessica Biel does look damned cute in that picture where she's all bundled up.
Also also, the 20 degrees thing would work in your favor in times where it's colder than 20 degrees. Everybody's all cold, and you're hanging out in the nice balmy 20 degrees. You could go chill out in Antarctica and laugh at the people dying in the -50 degree cold.

I swear they had this discussion on the show no more than 2 weeks ago. Although, I think the 'all the time' parameter was new, and Dave gave a different answer this time. Ron bailed on the discussion rather abruptly. The whole thing felt odd to me.
