I'm heading to Myrtle Beach this weekend for a surprise family function. Looks like I'm on the hook for dinner Saturday night. 20-25 people. Any suggestions for a good seafood restaurant?

any kids there?
angry dicks is the place to be.

oh, the hot myrtle beach is not actually on the beach. its about a mile inland. around a massive man-made lake. the actually strip on the beach is shitty.

I've been to MB a few times and all the seafood restaurants I've been haven't been spectacular. However I do have a small list of a few you might want to check out. Mind you I have never been to these, its all based on what family members have told me.

Carolina Roadhouse - 4617 N Kings Hwy
Bonefish Grill - 7401 N Kings Hwy
Thoroughbreds Restaurant - 9706 N Kings Hwy

From what I hear, Bonefish Grill is the best of the 3.

I'd look up these 3 though before hand just to be on the safe side

I haven't been down there for 3 years, but i'd find a place and get a reservation today. saturday night, this time of year in myrtle beach is pretty busy. primarily comprised of huge groups of middle aged male golfers getting drunk. for 25 on a saturday night, it's not gonna be easy. good luck.

You can still go to Dick's if you have kids. Every year I go down to Myrtle for a week of golf with 3 of my buddies. Usually we're always looking to eat cheap and find the best bars so I'm not an expert on the seafood in the area, but Bonefish is quite good.

One thing about Myrtle Beach. There is no shortage of Hooters and Shoney's resturaunts. Christ, there is nearlt one every mile or two.

My in-laws live in MB and we go there every summer. I have NEVER had good seafood down there - though I did have some delicious shrimp at Pier 14 - right behind The Yachtsman on the ocean.

Being from Maryland - I'm verrrrrrry picky about seafood and the stuff in MB just doesn't hold up...and stay away from any restaurant that says "Calabash"...some kind of "style" of seafood that translates to rubbery boiled spiceless shrimp and other fishy stuff. Blech. just awful.

My favorite restaurant there is Abuelos. Upscale mexican food and it's DELICIOUS.

They also have a Phillips Seafood there (near Broadway at the Beach) which originated in Balmore, Hon. Phillips is known for great seafood and the parking lot at MB is always full so it's probably pretty good there.
