Is Ron having issues at home? (FYI - attempt at humor gone bad, if you get outraged)

For a guy who used to like to sleep late and stumble into work minutes before the show went on the air, and who used to end the show 20 minutes before 3:00, he certainly has been finding a lot of reasons to "stay late at the office". There's been all of the Sunday shows, the pre-taped shows in lieu of re-runs, now there's the 24 hr show.

I've seen this all before, and in my experience unless the guy has been a Type-A workaholic all of his life, it is usually indicative of "home issues". He sure was quick to kick his family to the curb before he got his six minute chip, wasn't he? What do you guys think?

By the way - I don't think it makes him a bad person or anything. I can certainly relate. I wouldn't mind sitting in the studio audience for the 24 hr hour show. Anything to get me away from this Disney Channel watching, Miracle Whip sandwich eating suburban hell that is my life.

I was rather vocal in saying that I thought the Anthony and Melinda situation became our business both in the consideration that Melinda is a 202 character and Anthony brought it up. Opie, to my knowledge, has never really detailed his Sandy break-up, which is fine with me, she wasn't exactly part of the world, and nor has Ronnie really but for limited cases refered to his wife or kids. That being the case, I would consider it off limits, and while I'd be all ears, I would certainly never presuppose anything about their respective situations.

However, for what its worth, Ronnie has never sounded more truly content than nowadays. Despite the availbility of SU in the DC days, about 8 months after the flip, I kind of stopped tuning in, because you could tell his heart wasn't in things. I think that was more based on having to live down there than any home issues. The Xm show has seen him far more consistently engaged and energized in respect to the show, and despite his jokes, I think he does care about the quality of it. I've personally seen no slippage on that front. They have a great gig, in the city they want to be in, and have a venue to express themselves.

They've always been about expanded interaction from my recall, never has a radio show done it better. If there are problems at home, they extend back to 2001 when they would be out at the bar so often at night after the show.
