View Full Version : New Line Cinema is Dead
New Line, the studio that brought us A Nightmare on Elm Street, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Lord Of The Rings trilogy is being folded into Warner Brothers. (http://www.themovieblog.com/2008/02/new-line-as-we-know-it-is-dead)
I'm surprised they could manage to stay independent after all of that Lord of the Rings money.

They could or could NOT manage to stay independant? I would think after the prestiege of winning 10 acadamy awards (or was it 11?) and the billion they took in world-wide they would have managed to do so.
Then again, didn't they also do King Kong? That was a HUGE flop.

I remember when King Kong came out. I was working at the Westfield Rialto and I swear, so many women came out of that movie in tears because that fucking ape died.

NLC: Haha!
"The New Line Cinema film, starring Ferrell as the owner of a fictional basketball franchise, grossed $15.3 million in its weekend debut. That was lackluster compared to Ferrell's 2006 NASCAR parody "Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," which opened at $47 million, and last year's figure skating comedy "Blades of Glory," which earned $33 million in its first weekend."

I love how a total of 4 corporations are responsible for delivering this country all of its news and movies.
