Related to the other thread, who is the worst musical artist turned actor? I'm not sure she's the worst, but I saw Avril Levigne in a very small role in Fast Food Nation, and she was god-awful.

Any rapper other than Mos-Def or Marky Mark comes to mind.

Tom Petty is awful in The Postman. He's basically playing himself, but he has that constant "I'm being filmed" smirk on his face in the short amount of time he is on screen. Much like Seinfeld had in his TV show, especially in the early seasons.
The worst I ever saw - and it's hilariously bad - is Greg Allman on Superboy, a show I don't even remember being on.

I dunno, Ice Cube has pulled of his share of decent roles. I really liked Snoop in Training Day and especially Baby Boy, though he wasn't really reaching with those roles. Tupac definitely showed a ton of charima and acting chops, though his movies mostly sucked. He was REALLY good in Gridlock'd and Gang Related. It's pretty minor, but Killer Mike (runs with Outkast) is awesome as Taqu'il on the Adult Swim cartoon Frisky Dingo.
Tom Petty may suck acting "in person," but he's fucking hysterical as Lucky on King of the Hill.

I agree on the rappers... You could also toss out Ice T, Common, and Will Smith.
I thought T.I. was good in American Gangsta.

'KISS meets the Phantom of the Park' may well be the most heinous single band-turned- 'actors' cinematic crime ever, or in my little brain.
They admit their horrific-ness now, time enough has passed. Paul said there was no acting whatsoever. If they actually got the line out succesfully, that was The Take; move on to the next shot.
Paul and Gene at least were able to get the lines out; Ace's 'lines' were reduced to him doing a kind of 'squawk', and Peter was hopeless; he couldnt speak, he was so fucked up. Someone else overdubbed his lines.
What an awesome train wreck.

I would agree, but only if Ice T is thrown on the list.
Edit: Also on the non-suck list non-rapper Henry Rollins. The rest suck, even though Ice Cube is decent and just gets shitty roles.
