Is there a way to get out of an auto lease early without harming my credit? I have a 2007 Acura MDX but Id like to get something less expensive. Is this a possibility?

call to get your buy out and then pay the car off and then sell it yourself. the problem is, your car is a 2007 you will definitely loss money. you are probably better off just keeping it.

some dealers are cool with it, as long as you get something else from them.

your best bet, go to your dealer, if its a overperforming dealership they'll work with you. You'll have to get an 08 though most likely, eep, you said acura.... you might be able to get into a tsx.......

Defouw.com..Jeff Coffman..I will give you 24 years of advise..I will tell you all!!! I am handicapped with the typed word...It takes forever......Just call me and I can help you ..I know a lot about getting out of a lease early...Don't forget every state has different tax laws..If you sell it you have to buy it first... and pay sales tax on an amount that is very high compared to a dealer buy out....Please don't even think about a car guy stereotype when you think of me....If you have any mind at all you can tell from my being and my post ..Plus I will sing to you Hot Days Cool nights Right before you sign... @ Buzzard8.com under Juggy...:innocent:

Its only the lease company that you deal with on getting out..The dealer of course is cool with it because they want to sell you something....But the dealer has nothing to do with the early termination numbers of a lease... To assume a lease to another customer is possible..But very hard for economic reasons..with programs trying to push 08 models the payment on a new mdx might be cheaper...If w.f put 5000 dollars down on his lease then maybe it would be a great one to assume....:bye:

Lease question. Unless you need to be in a less than four year old car all the time like a salesperson or something, can anyone explain the benefits to me of leasing a car?
I always buy off-lease, pay cash, use the fucker up and move on. Am I missing something?

i have always leased. if you get a new car every 2 or 3 years then leasing saves you money or at least you wont loose money. for example, one of my leased cars was a lexus gs300. my lease payment was $600 a month with nothing down. i had the car 3 years and im done with it. if i bought it my payment would have been over $1000 a month and for 5 years. cars always lose most of their value in the 1st 2 years. if after 2 years you wanted to sell your purchased car then you might owe money or break even. but spending $400 more a month.

im not saying this is definitely the reason, but this is what i have been told and it seems to be true from my last 4 car lease experiences.

Dear Juggy,
Im interested in transfering my lease to a third party AND having you sing to me.

How do I go about this and is there a package deal for both.

I sold vehicles for 8 years and I leased all my personal vehicles. I was able to get more vehicle for the payment than by conventional financing. When the Expedition first came out in 97 - it had a 76% residual which meant that I only had to pay for 24% for the 2years of leasing it. I had a $286 payment on a 35000 sticker price without $$ down. When my lease was up, the 76% was Ford's responsibility at the auction and they lost their ass.

Anyway - on breaking your lease...
You do have a lease payoff if you try to get out of it now and good luck making that happen - $$ down at the beginning of a lease only buys down your payment - it has nothing to do with the payoff.

If you live in Pennsylvania Hillary will get you out of your lease in exchange for a few moments of your time on a certain day in April

I leased a few cars early on. It was an interesting experience. It's something I'd investigate again, only because my commute to work is so short. (15 miles each way)

I only have 45K on my truck right now, but it just depends on where we end up living. I still want my mustang, but also realize that I need a kid-friendly vehicle.

Bob you are exactly right...But the days of 76% residuals are long gone..Those were the days my friend...It was the lost there ass part that caused it........They quit jacking residuals about 5 years ago.....The new 08 Malibu is at 58 On 36 months... and thats jacked for a new car on the market....There starting to do it again with cap cost reductions and special rates now..But almost every special lease payment ya see in a ad is either 2500 down in small print or a 60 month lease which is so stupid I can't go in to it...

Wife hates mini-vans. Who feels stupid now?

I'd probably get an explorer or escape.

Here's my deal - I leased a car in August of 2006 for 36 months/36,000 miles. In June of 2007 I changed jobs and got a company car. I also purchased a Jeep Wrangler as a recreational vehicle, so now I have 3 automobiles.

I've had the leased car for 21 months and don't even have 11,000 miles on it yet. It seems like such a waste. When I contacted the finance company they informed me I can turn in the vehicle with a $400 penalty, but I'll also be responsible for all the monthly payments until they sell it and I'll also have to pay the difference of the residual versus what they sell it for.

Sounds to me like I'm better off just keeping it for the final 15 months, but any input by Juggy or other auto salespeople would be greatly appreciated.

Not car salesperson, but you can look into transferring the lease to someone else.

It was an option available on my brother's truck when he was looking to get rid of it.

I was actually thinking of looking into that. If someone took it over they'd be getting a 15 month/25,000 mile lease. Not a bad deal.

Usually they charge you a fee for transferring it, but it's a way to get out. You can troll Craigslist for people who would want to pick it up, and the old "for sale" sign in the car window will at least get you phone calls where you can explain what the deal is.

It just depends on who the leasing company is and what the lease conditions are. You might have a problem with a transfer though because of the credit crunch.
