Actor Robert Downey Jr has in the past been applauded for his edgy roles.

Jeez, the comments they quoted are just so moronic, and of the typical "bash a movie I haven't seen or know anything about" variety. All of those complaints in the article make it sound like the people are assuming he's actually supposed to be playing a black character. He's not. It's a comedy, and he's playing a white actor desperate for a role in a Vietnam flick, and it's written as a black character, so he goes the "method makeup" route to get the part. It's ridiculous satire of the exact thing being complained about.

Morons. Downey looks like Tiger Woods and Don Cheadle and the Rock somehow had a baby. Yowza.

The only thing I find offensive about it is Ben Stiller still getting work.
