building a Man Room

I've got a 15 x 15 detached garadge that I'm going to turn into a man room. Should I make a theater out of it with projecter, stage and sound system or should I make a bar/card room out of it? Both would have a fully stocked bar with kegerator, pinball machine, darts etc. Hrm, I wonder if the lil'lady would let me put up a stripper bar..

To build a proper man room...first put up a wall...then drill a hole in the wall, waist high..then invite friends over..or if daring....stranger.

Make sure you leave room for a place to keep your balls.

Yeah, the theater thing would probably result in more crazy nights. I dont kareoke, but I'll get a system just to have everyone get blasted and turn into asses 'on stage'.

Fug nice, I would love to have a LAN room too. I figure the Theater room would lend itself to some nice x360 games. It would be cool to have pool too.. Also, I'll put all of my old game systems in there for the kids to play while the adults drink. I even have access to a table, but I think the space would be too tight.

Yeah. To small for a full size table and a theater. A nice HD TV with DVD and Video Games hooked up. Karaoke is always cool to have.
Comfortable sofa, bar and refrig, and I think you are good to go.

Don't forget to put in a urinal. Trust me.

Go with the theater. Think about how much more use you'd get out of a theater than a card room.

Unless you're planning on running an underground gambling ring. Then the card room might be good.

Not to be a buzzkill, but 15x15 is not a whole lot of space when you start putting stuff into it.

A bar, big screen TV, and some nice seating are about all you are going to get. Maybe a small stage if you use your space well.

However, I am somewhat jealous - although I wouldn't call it a "man room." I would like an all-purpose media room.

Here is my thought. The building is rustic so I need something that is big enough to make the room something other than hanging out in the shed on a couch. I have friends who have added pool tables to garages and it never quite feels like anything other than a pool table in a garage. I figure if the thing looks good enough, it might make the room convincing.

That said, we have also had a few relatives that start drunk singing when the booze starts flowing. A stage could really amp up a party. Mix that with a LCD projector and I might really have a spot that could be fun to have a couple beers in.

Really? I have my own room in my basement. It's the biggest open area in my house, it's covered in Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oiler and Sydney Crosby pictures. It has a 52" HD with Surround sound, I built a 77gallon fishtank into the wall (to balance my tchi) and I have my own little 'cute as a button' fully stocked bear fridge.

I only get to use it 8 days a month.... but even my kids (6/6/4) know that it's daddy's room.

I'm not rich and my lady 'allowed'.....

They can bring beer, but they must set it down outside the door, knock once for each 6 pack they leave, and then turn their backs before the door is opened.
