Its been lighter, later, lately. This scares me. Suddenly, its like the sun just doesnt want to go away.

Why do we bother changing the clocks? Why not leave it like this year round? Winding the clocks back only increases our need to consume electricty, thus making energy conglomerate corporations richer.

What do the Amish know that we dont?

What do the Amish know that we dont?

They know how to raise a barn.

But I noticed that last night and thought it was odd, before I remembered the time change.

Hawaii and Arizona don't dick with the clocks, and they seem to be intact.

I always heard it had something to do with redneck hayseed farmers who need sunlight early in the morning to plow their fields and whatnot. And also, so kids in the middle of Nowhere Bumblefuck don't have to stand in the dark to wait for the schoolbus. I say "Fuck 'em"! Everyone knows that the only people who really matter live on the two coasts anyways.

From what I can tell, Ben Franklin came up with the idea and the thought process is that the longer the sun is out while we're awake, the less electricity we'll need. It also appears to reduce the number of accidents.

It also looks like there is some controversy about whether it actually does save electricity.

Around here, there is an over-abundance of idiotic parents that have to drive their kids to school because the bus is so "dangerous". You can't drive by a school during pick up or drop off because the line of SUV's waiting to get into the bus circle stretches for blocks. After they save their little shitmonster from the dangers of the school bus, I imagine they drive right thorugh a McD's for some shit food to poison the soft little fuckers with.

Daylight savings time started in WW1 as an attempt to cut energy costs while the war was going on. When the war ended, so did daylight savings time. It started again in WW2, after WW2 was over it was adopted by most states and provinces in North America.

The reason it changes back in the fall (fall back... that's great!) is because the days are shorter during the fall/ winter months.

Places that are near the equator do not do time shifts because their hours/ day of sunlight are consistent throughout the year.

I like it. The other days are too heavy.

I say we just destroy the Sun and end all of these shenanigans. Global Warming, Daylight Savings Time, sunurn, deserts. All thanks to Mr. Sun. It's high time we break free from Solar Tyranny and blow up the motherfucker, break free from it's gravitational stranglehold and roam the galaxy in our ready-made planetary space vessel.

I heard that, too, except he was being sarcastic. He supposedly came up with a big proposal about how much money they'd save, etc...but he was just joking and being an ass. Now we all do it. That's just what I heard.

yeah, but with in spring, kids still have to stand in the dark waiting for the bus. its dark on my drive to school in the morning and i hate it. i hate waking up before the sun and just as sunrise was just about the time i woke up, we had to change the fucking clocks. lame.
