Lilly has said she doesn't usually wash her hair every day.
I used to when I had long hair, but now I tend to wash it every other day unless I have a sweaty workout.

and.... Go!

I haven't washed my hair since 2001.

Thanks for bringing up such hurtful memories.

I have to wash it every day, or else it gets really greasy.

However, my wife's boss is cape verdean and she only has to wash her hair once a week.

I'd say every other day, but I shower every day. I've found that since I grew my hair longer, my hair tends to look better on days when I don't wash it.

As I recall, yes that is correct... The same thing used to happen to me.

The oils get mixed in there and make it look fantastic, it holds better, it's not frizzy.

I can't stand your beautiful new hair!

I too am growing out my hair. My luxurious locks need to be shampooed and conditioned every single day. Sometimes twice on Saturday.

well... over-washing strips your hair of essential oils.

i cannot advocate this kind of anti-hair behaviour, sir.

My hair produces essential oils at an alarming rate. I'm good.

And you spelled behavior wrong, faggot. (or are you Canadian now)

approx 3

i can go 3 or 4 days without a shower if I don't have work or am not seeing my lady. i think it's good to get the natural body oils back and it saves water too

i hate showering and not washing my hair because i like the water hot and then your scalp sweats and then you get out of the shower and don't feel totally clean

If this were a few weeks ago, I would have challenged you to a long and luxurious hair showdown. I went from June until February with no haircut, and then broke down and had them take a couple of inches off all around and remove the mullety tail that was starting to develop.

every other day... it takes long enough to get myself and the kid ready in the mornings with shower and all... blow-drying hair for 30 minutes every day would just take valuable time out of my much needed beauty sleep.

Probably 9-10 times. Every morning except the occasional Sunday and every time I manage to drag my ass to the gym. I'm probably risking tumbleweed head like Club Soda Kenny. But I use very little shampoo since my hair is short.

If I don't wash my hair, it looks like crap. I usually only wash it 5 times a week though, because I rarely go anywhere on my days off.

I pay someone to wash my dreads once every two weeks. Without dreads, I'll usually wash once or twice a week. And I try to oil my scalp daily to keep things from drying out..

my hair always looks best the day after its washed. i voted for 4 times a week. i'll usually only stray from the every other day formula if an off day winds up being a gym day, or during baseball/ softball season when i'm sitting outside in the dirt a lot for work.

Roughly every other day, always after workouts because I usually swim. Chlorine is no good for the highlights!

Part of the reason I don't wash my hair every time I shower is that it's so dry and damaged from the weather, heat and color treating that it gets frizzy if I shampoo every time I bathe and conditioners give me nasty buildup because my hair is short now. Plus, I hate having damp hair when it's freezing outside!

At the moment, I'm looking into dry shampoos so that I can blow out and style my hair one day and keep it nice (not greasy) for a longer time during the week so I can keep my style with a minimal effort.

If I feel like I'm getting a lot of buildup, though, I'll do a dilute cider vinegar rinse to cut through things before shampooing as usual. (I did this recently to improve the overall look and feel of my hair...then I got a shampoo-cut-style at SuperCuts to clean things up the other day.)

i used to dye my hair black for a few years & that was really really hard on my hair. it really dried it out. not that all the crap is finally gone & my hair is all natural it really is so much healthier. the dye being gone mixed with sunsilk anti-poof shampoo & conditioner means i can actually leave the house with my hair down & i no longer look like alice from dilbert.

it is good to switch up the shampoo every once in a while so sometimes i'll throw in some garnier fructise or cristophe.

Totally agree about taking a break from the dye being good news for the tresses...I've been dyeing my hair on-and-off since high school, both using store-bought boxes-o-dye and going to the salon and spending hours and hours with a professional. (I prefer the salon.)

I've been swearing by Sunsilk "Hydra TLC" 24/7 creme as my styling product of choice before the blow-dry. No pouf and no crispies.

A few weeks ago, I switched shampoos from Tresemme (for color treated hair; the shit dried my hair out, though!) to Organix Coconut Milk (smells yummy, but costs $7 a bottle ... and, now that I think about it, I didn't get my freaking rebate check!) ... I just did a cider vinegar rinse, which actually works the same as switching shampoos (removes buildup and dead scalp cells you didn't suds away before) so I am probably good to go for a couple of months. Unless I start styling my hair every day.

I've been using that for months, it get an A+ in my book.

I also use Herbal Essenes "none of Your Frizzness" creme when it's a rainy day. I find that that helps to stop it from poofing out.

I voted 3.

For buildup I've noticed it's just some shampoos & conditioners that do that. Or it's from using the same product too long. I like to switch up every time I run out. I stick with Sun Silk's straightening, Suave's sleek (same as sun silk) and tresemme smooth. The creams are a must though!

Probably 5 times a week. I wash my hair every time I shower, but I'm lazy and I don't shower every day. It gets quite greasy if I go more than a day without showering, though. And that just feels fucking dirty. If I shower, I have to wash my hair, though. I can't shower without getting my hair wet... dunno how that works. It would be an uncomfortable shower and wouldn't feel complete. And I can't just get my hair wet. I did it once. I decided to shower but not shampoo, and my hair felt 100x dirtier after the shower. It was awful.

And oh, my hair is also better than all of yours. Incredibly soft with the best natural curls anywhere.

I voted 7 only because there was nothing higher. I probably average 8 to 12 times a week. I've never even considered showering without washing my hair. Like making a conscious decision that "I think I'll skip a day". I'm not saying I haven't ever felt lazy on a weekend and skipped a morning shower, but to take one and not scrub the noggin? Never occured to me.

Reading the thread I'm not disgusted by this idea or anything if you can get away with it, I guess I just fall in with others with fighting the "greasy" effect that happens after 24 hrs or so.
