I just had to give a big thumbs up to Pitzy, Lilly, and yes, even Earl for the way they stepped up in Dave's absence this past Thursday and Friday. They all contributed to the show and kept it flowing.

Lilly in particular continues to impress me with how polished and professional she's gotten on air.

Nice job all around, gang.

I liked the dynamic that Dave wasn't there. Now that hes back they should learn from that and modulate Dave a little bit.

I agree that the whole dynamic of the 3rd mic has changed The Ron and Fez show, but only because Dave is such a unique character. The boys tried it back in the day with Joe Poo and it worked because Joe was so laid back and had to be coerced to participate.

I can't fault Dave for being so excitable and enthusiastic; he's a die hard fan of the show who suddenly found himself to be a major part of it, and for the most part that's his real personality. He's pretty much the same way in "real" life - manic and zany.

If only Mooch could be made a permanent addition to the staff. His contributions have been amazing in such a short stint.

didn't they say the same aboot pitzy till he started getting paid? (obviously not from a creative POV, but as a hard-working go-getter.)

Perhaps Pitzy was just feeling a bit frustrated after getting the gig because he was so behind the scenes. He rarely got air time, and I think he feels he's got something to contribute. Like I said, I think he did a phenomenal job this past week participating in Ron and Fez's conversations.

And I'll never forget how impressed I was with Pitzy and Lilly the night of the Hard Rock bash where Dave wrestled The Midnight Rider. I don't know if I've ever seen two people work harder.

I think Dave get's unfairly criticized for his level of involvment. When Fezzie's issues began I believe Dave got thrown in to the fire and responded admirably. Now that it seems that Fez is on the path back, yes, they need to learn a new balance. There have been a few instances after someone makes a comment about Dave hogging the mic, that Ron says something, and there's silence afterwards. If Dave doesn't speak sometimes, who else does? Especially if Fez is having a bad day. I hope Fez's good times continue and he gets better and better, and they all find the team balance they're looking for, but to say that Dave hijacks the show I think is unfair. To keep it on topic, I agree GVAC, I hope those two really solid days gives the other guys confidence that they should be talking more as well.

How many people would support an ESD show? East Side Dave on XM 202, 8pm - Midnight!! Let's make it happen!

Do I agree with you Gvac?

To paraphrase the great Lilly, "Absolutely"

I have to say Dave is a find, good bad whatever, but I couldn't listen to his nonsense for his own show. Fez is starting to do better and i might be time to pull Dave back more now.

No offense at all, gang, but I wanted this thread to be an acknowledgment of Pitzy, Lilly, Mooch, and Earl's contributions while Dave was away, not a debate on Dave.

I thought the friday show was flawless. When it was finally over I suddenly realized that there was no calls the entire show. Everyone filled the time perfectly. Pitzy had a few lines that had me howling.

XM is playing Friday's show now on replay, and you're right, the show is flying along, everybody is contributing, and no forced speak to fill time. And I didn't notice the no caller thing either, but you're right. Creep.

I think we saw the best side of everyone on Thursday and Friday. Dave is a funny guy and I enjoy him but he has a tendancy to overpower everyone in the room (other than Ron, of course).

Dave is a hack prop-act at best. The show has sounded better since he has been out.
Sadly; he will return, he will step over lines, he will talk out of turn, he will miss conversational points, he will not display comedic timing and he also will not be gone soon enough.

With all that said; his character has the most promise ongoing.

He's the best, isn't he?

Hey GVAC and anyone else

Your post here and the other one about pod casts, which I know nothing about. I got the opinion that people were given an hour or so to do a show via pod cast and it airs on some dead time hours on 202.

If that isn't close, someone enlighten me

Anyway GVAC and you guys, esp who know me. Hypothetically, I thought about doing one of these shows, most of the time half of my ideas stay there. Except the CT's. Every Calendar month new t-shirts about everything and anything hopefully.

It'd be great to have Tenacious C model them for us too....fits with the spirit of the idea. No she is not a CT. She's a beautiful girl who could make any shirt look good with her looks and smile!

So,who do you think would make a good partner for me? I did a show with Mikey d at his house, it was fun and it was OK. Paul Bond and I have a great chemistry, but he too busy being funny all over the country these days. If you're in New Mexico this week, check him out somewhere....I know its a big state.

I would really like to see who you guys would be a suitable partner, or do u think I would need one at all?

I know it'll happen but between the gags, try some serious ones, OK?

The Thursday and Friday shows Dave missed were great, but I think because Fez was really hitting his stride. With him being out last week I really noticed how the tone of the show changed for me. Even when Fez is silent he effects the dynamic, and makes the show better.
Dave is pretty much a one note joke. I think he has alot of talent and potential to mature, but sometimes I'm really not in the mood for that one note. I turned off the show a few times last week because I really couldn't hang with dave being dave, and inside board stuff. I don't think Dave would've ruined the shows he missed, I think he would've been incoorporated into them and become more funny. It's nice when everyone has a chance to get into the pool.

Usually, no calls means recorded show, I didn't have a chance to listen do you think it might have been recorded Thursday so they could take Friday off?
