I am so down on love right now. Every time I go out to a bar, it just seems like a HUGE waste of time to starting talking with some girl. Every guy preys on them and I wouldn't be any different.
And if it doesn't seem like something meaningful can happen immediately, I shoot it down as a waste of time. Maybe there is something possible but I'm too quick with it because of the situation or the vibe. I feel like I'm never going to meet a new girl again, the ones that are my friends are it.
Anyway, a friend suggested online dating. I can't get the 'creepy' stigmatism out of my head that used to be attached to it. But I guess its the only option because I'm tired of the chase, at least for now. I want something that has meaning.
well, just venting. and other rants or suggestions would be appreciated.

You know it's funny because I was thinking about on-line dating today. I've been married for 14 yerars so I was going a-courting in the pre-internet days when you had to speak to a person face-to-face (or at least on the phone). I don't think that if I were to become single again that I could do the on-line dating thing. At the same time, I know people who met via one of those web sites and are happily married now.

Don't look down on internet dating...
I have yet to have any success with it...but I've only been at it a few weeks/1month...
Just think of it as getting yourself out there. The more feelers you have out there, the better your chances.
Try Craigslist...Yahoo personals...plentyoffish.com...
And if you want to pay, try match or eHarmony.
They are there for you to use...so give it a try. Bars are bad places to meet women.
Good luck bro.

Internet dating works well enough so long as you're not going after the insanely hot girls. Chances are that they're fakes but even if they aren't they get so much mail that it's next to impossible to make an impression.
On the plus side, there are a lot of douches on there who set the bar pretty low , so if you can string together a good e-mail you'll end up looking like James Bond in comparison.

as far as internet, i would think if you went to a pay site there would be less fakes and girls being over-run with offers.

One of my coworkers met her fiance through eHarmony.
The questionnaire is long and involved, but if you're serious about wanting a "real" relationship, it's worth the extra effort.

Maybe I'm the odd man out, but I don't see why we as people need the connected companionship of another human being. I personally find humans as boring and very uninteresting creatures.

Your friends are like me and my friends. One of my old roommates told us that he got rejected by eHarmony and it has been a running joke for the last three years...sigh I guess we are dicks.

Umm, a certain radio show broadcasts from NYC. I went last week and they were most gracious hosts.
And I work in the city, there's an infinite number of things to do, even if you're alone, it doesn't matter. It might not help in meeting someone but...
