Hey, I got a good one to start the show...

Danny Boy

No one will see that comin.

Like I said, I love Black 47!

Danny came over to old new york
From bandon town in the county cork
He got a room on the avenue in woodside queens
And a job off the books doin' demolition
He was kind of different than everyone else oh he liked to hang out all by himself
Didn't hit those bars in sunnyside queens
Went straight into the village to check out the scene
One day on the job the foreman said
"hey danny boy we think you're a fag with your ponytail and that ring in your ear
Hey, we don't need no homos foulin' up the air"
Danny just smiled and picked up a 2 by 4
And he split that jerk from his jaw to his ear
Said "you can stick your job where the sun don't shine
But you're never gonna stop me bein' what i am, boy!"
Then he met a man down in sheridan square
They moved in together for a couple of years
Said it was the happiest he'd ever been
Doin' what he wanted and livin' his dream we used to drink together down on avenue b
One gray dawn he confessed to me
"love's the only thing that makes the world go round
And i'm never gonna see another sunset over sweet bandon town"
Last time i saw dan he was in a hospital bed
Two tubes hangin' out the nose of his head
But he smiled at me with them stone blue eyes
And he said, "hey, how you doin', guy?
I'm history 'round here in a couple of weeks
But i did what i wanted - i got no regrets
So, when you think of me crack a beer and smile
Hey, life's a bitch and then you die"
Oh danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are callin'
From glen to glen, and down the mountainside
The summer's gone and all the flowers are dyin'
'tis you, 'tis you, must go and i must bide
But come you back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'tis i'll be there in sunshine or in shadow
Oh danny boy, oh danny boy, i love you so i love you so,
Danny boy, i love you so

Dave's right about the line in the diner scene. From IMDB:

You know, we always called each other good fellas. Like you said to, uh, somebody, :You're gonna like this guy. He's all right. He's a good fella. He's one of us.: You understand? We were good fellas. Wiseguys. But Jimmy and I could never be made because we had Irish blood. It didn't even matter that my mother was Sicilian. To become a member of a crew you've got to be one hundred per cent Italian so they can trace all your relatives back to the old country. See, it's the highest honor they can give you. It means you belong to a family and crew. It means that nobody can fuck around with you. It also means you could fuck around with anybody just as long as they aren't also a member. It's like a license to steal. It's a license to do anything. As far as Jimmy was concerned with Tommy being made, it was like we were all being made. We would now have one of our own as a member.

James 'Jimmy the Gent' Burke (July 5, 1931 New York City, New York – April 13, 1996 Alden, New York), was an Irish-American gangster and Lucchese crime family associate who is believed to have organized the Lufthansa heist in 1978. He is the father of small-time mobster and Lufthansa heist suspect, Frank James Burke "Frankie", Jesse James Burke, Catherine Burke and another unidentified daughter. Catherine married Bonanno crime family member Anthony Indelicato in 1992. Nicknamed The Big Irishman or The Irish Guinea, Burke is familiar to most people via Robert De Niro's depiction of him (as Jimmy Conway) in the movie Goodfellas. He was born in New York, New York in 1931 as an illegitimate son to a woman only identified as "Miss Conway". At the age of two James was placed in foster home spent most of his early years in a Roman Catholic orphanage run by nuns, never to see his natural parents again. The father of James has never been identified. He was shuttled around various homes and orphanages, where he suffered physical and sexual abuse at the hands of various foster fathers and foster brothers. It is thought that he suffered from an undiagnosed case of Fetal alcohol syndrome and kleptomania. He eventually adopted the name of Burke after one foster family. When he was thirteen, Burke's foster father died in a car crash—he lost control of the car when he turned around to hit Burke, who was riding in the back seat. The deceased man's widow, who was in the car as well but survived, blamed Burke for the accident and gave him regular beatings until he was taken back into care. This time he was finally adopted by the "Burke" family. Jimmy lived with them in a boarding house located on Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Ocean Promenade in Rockaway Beach, Queens

they are wrong about japan - people drink heavy over there - they aren't all Dongers. esp. business guys - they get really bombed after work. public drunkenness isn't a shameful thing - so late night you see guys passed out in the subways, on stairs etc... drinking is part of the job.

info:

Foreign Stout began with the beer that would become Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. This was a stronger, extra-hopped version of the basic Guinness Extra Stout, brewed to survive long journeys overseas. The classic FES still exists in a few different forms, but many of the original destination countries (Jamaica, Sri Lanka, etc.) now have their own, locally-produced versions. Foreign stout occupies a position between basic stout and imperial stout. It is sweeter than a basic stout, but not as robust as an imperial. It is less fruity and less hoppy as well. Foreign stouts are sometimes made with local grains and adjuncts – sugar is not uncommon. Alcohol ranges from 6-8%.
