It struck me today, that Jeep doesn't really have a logo.
every car company has an emblem of some sorts; but not Jeep. They simply put the name on it.
Why is that?

If you have to ask, you just don't understand.
Drive one and you will know.

I guess you could say the distinctive grill is sort of a logo.
I have a Grand Cherokee and my mother, who is clueless about cars, once said to me she always could tell a Jeep by the grill. She has a Mercury and I can guarantee you if you showed her the Mercury logo, she wouldn't know what it was.

Their logo should be a frat guy with a tribal arm band tattoo.

They've got a mascot though.

It has been theorized that the Jeep (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep) vehicle was named after this character: soldiers in World War II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II) may have nicknamed the machine after the then-popular character because they shared an ability to "go anywhere".

No way. I still say the name came from "GP" for General Purpose Vehicle in the Army.
I absolutely love my Jeep Liberty.

Love my Wrangler ... and I wasn't in a Frat or have armband tatoos. It was the cheapest 4 Wheel drive vehicle I could get, and it's been great for me. I'd say the Grill is the closest thing to a logo they have. Although, this is planted on all of their vehicles and I don't like it:

I have the original style - 2004 model. Way better and more masculine than the current models. It has the balls of the Wrangler.

exactly. i am currently on my second grand cherokee and i don't think i will ever buy another vehicle. they are a little (understatement) heavy on the gas but i can deal with that for how great the 4 wheel drive is in the snow and ice. ive never driven anything that handles like it.
i have been rear ended twice in jeeps and they are amazing at taking the damage. my first jeep was totaled when i was smashed from behind in a semi. i would either have been dead or suffered serious injuries if i was in a car. my other jeep was smoked from behind at a stop light when a lady was too busy talking on her cell phone to notice anyone else around her. i was at a stand still and she was cruising at 40. it was right in front of a fire station and one of the women who works for the department said she saw the whole thing and has never seen a car or truck take an impact as well as that jeep.
i love jeeps.

My aunt and uncle have had cherokees for years, and gettin in and out of those fucking midget-assed back seats is an atrocity.
My wife's wrangler was a lot of fun for wheelin', but that garage-door aerodynamics can get fucked in in the gashole.

It must be killing GVAC to not be able to post in this thread.
I had a Cherokee Sport for 5 or six years and liked it but it was kind of boring and plain. So I dropped that and got a Wrangler and I have loved it! I've had it for almost 6 years now and when I'm done with it in a few years I'll get another.

It's just one of those things.
I've had a 94 YJ, a 98 Cherokee and now I have a 06 TJ... I'll never question it.
And I'll never be alive without one Jeep sitting in my driveway.

If someone steals your jeep, you die.
Boondock was right, it WAS killing me not being able to post in this thread! And I knew Ramrod was a good man, but this only proved that point beyond a shadow of a doubt.
There truly is "only one" jeep, and I guess that's why the name alone is enough of a logo. Daimler-Chrysler tried like hell (and pretty much succeeded) in running the brand into the ground, and I'm hoping and praying the new ownership can bring it back to the company it once was.
As a former Cherokee owner and present Wrangler owner I can't tell you how much fun their vehicles were.

"He loves dudes. I so busted him cutting pictures of a Jeep out of a magazine. Then yesterday, he drew my bathwater and he gave me that look like, "Hey, I wear running shorts."
