I just started a new relationship...

I just officially became boyfriend and girlfriend with this girl I've been seeing since the end of August. We hit it off and it was wonderful, but she was afraid of titles for whatever reason and so we were this defined yet abstract thing. I really was into her so I figured what we had was better than nothing and didn't worry about titles.

Last night e were hanging out together and drinking because it was st. patty's day and why not. I was pretty intoxicated and she was as well as the night went on. She stayed the night with me and it was really nice. She left my house this morning and we met up later tonight. Me, her and a friend were taking a ride over to the mall for some random reason and when we were picking up my friend she said that she wanted to ask me something. She said how she knows how she was the one to say she didn't like titiles, but she wanted it with me. So after 8 months we're finally a defined couple.

All of a sudden I got kind of worried. I have no idea why. I love being with her and I lvoe her company so much and I'm happy that she wants to be something defined with me. At the same time though, I freaked out alittle bit. I'm not even sure why. I feel really dumb because there's no need for me to feel worried or weird or anything. But as soon as the title went up, I felt really happy and then later I felt weird.

We were always a couple, but there was never a title for us. We weren't bf and gf because it freake dher out after going though a bunch of relationships with overly controlling guys. I didn't call her my gf because the term made her feel like she was suffocating. So she was just this girl I was seeing. Now she's my gf.

You're a guy.

Obviously you're feeling the squeeze of commitment, or the fact that now that you have a "title" it's harder to back out of, since she's probably emotionally connected to you. Even if you're not thinking of backing out, it's still natural to feel some pressure.
I'm sure she was feeling the same thing, or else she wouldn't have held off on the "title" thing.
To react to that pressure by bailing or fleeing would be called being "flaky".

I woke up today and I feel much better about everything. I'm still a little scared, but it's a nervous excitement to finally be able to say she's my girl.

She is such an amazing person as i've stated before, as well as the most beautiful girl I've laid eyes on. I think I've been waiting for there to be a catch, but there's obviously no catch. I just found a great girl and I'm so lucky.

And I guess the sudden commitmet of it, which I wanted, just hit me rather hard.

But I absolutely love it now. It is what I wanted. To be able to walka round with her and be able to say she's my girlfriend. That she's with me. I couldn't ask for anything mroe right now.
