View Full Version : My dog thinks she's human

I don't know what to do with her... she really thinks she is human.
For example we (my roomate and I) try to play catch with her, we throw the ball and instead of catching it with her mouth she trys to use her paws... and it usually ends up hitting her in the nose. We screem "YOU DON"T HAVE HANDS!!!" but it doesn't matter
Another example, I came home and went to sleep the other day, Koda jumps on my bed and lays down too. I wake up... she is sleeping on her back (like I do) and she moved up the bed and has her head on the pillow next to me. I turn over and ask "what are you doing?" she rolls over as well, licks me, rolls back and falls to sleep again.
and forget about watching TV.. she has to sit in the middle of the couch in between me and my roomate and she stares at the TV like me and my roomate as if she is watching it.
Is this healthy for a dog??? Shouldn't she be more "dog-like"??? I don't know

Tom,
I have a beagle named Annie. Not only will she sleep in bed with me but somehow she gets under the covers and puts her head on the pillow. Then she starts to snore worse than I do.
She been known to jump on a chair at the table at dinner time and put her paw on the plate in front of her and pull it toward her as if to say" Me too!"
I don't know why GVAC hates my Annie!!!

its good that the animals are becoming more human
its when we start licking our own crotches and sniffing each others buts, thats when it gets weird
Lol brandon.
My cat, Sonic, thinks she's a puppy. SHe eats my dog's food and she fetches (she even has her own little ball) much like a dog she is very vocal and super energetic. She kicks ass.

My dog thinks he's human as well.
But he also thinks I'm another dog. It's an interesting household I live in.

Do you sniff other dog's butts
and drink out of the toilet?

According to annimal trainers, dogs don't think they're human. (That's beyond their cognitive ability).
Instead, dogs think humans are dogs. The dog's family are members of the pack. It's important that the dog learns that she is not the dominant alpha female of the pack. Behavioral problems are usually resolved by reasserting your alpha dog status.
