I've had one experience with Stubhub and it was pretty great so I'm giving it another go.
Has anyone else used it?

I used RazorGator, a competitor of StubHub. Worked out well for me.

StubHub's fanprotect + the Ebay Ownership makes me think they can back up any problems they may have.

Wait a second, i just realized i've used them twice and one experience was terrible. me and 3 friends went up to Foxborough in 2006 to watch the Pats/Jets playoff game. We bought 4 tickets from Stubhub and when we got there we found out that 2 of the tickets were fake. Thankfully the people working at Gillette Stadium were nice enough to sympathize with our situation and sold us two standing room tickets even though the game was technically "sold out". Stubhub however told us there was nothing they could do, we couldnt even get our money back. So two of my friends lost 100 bucks for their fake ticket plus another 50 bucks for the standing room ticket.

Stubhub's fanprotect says if you get a fake and you call them immediately, they'll get you a comparable ticket for that event.

I used stubhub for the Rangers/Bruins game at MSG a couple weeks ago. Had no problems other than the B's not scoring a single goal.

My friend got us a pair of Yankees tickets for 5 bucks two days before a game. It was a day game, too. Awesomeness.

STOP! Don't use STUBHUB! Serioulsy, if you're someone in a descent sports market that has a pro team, stub hub rips you. I live in queens ny, and get rangers tix for 20 -30 dollars over the ticket price from ticket brokers on craigs list. The price hike they allow on stub hub is insane and THEN they add their gratuity. The prices you're paying are crazy.
But in using the actual service i can't not a problem in their delivery or promptness. I can only say that a ny ranger home game at msg ticket is priced on their site at $145, I then get a seat in that same row and section for 55 through a broker on craig's list. Just my experience.

I use Stubhub all the time when I travel. Never used it for the home market but outside of my area and I want to catch an event I've bought tickets dozens of times and never had a negative experience.

That is the epitome of a whorthless guarantee. Most of the time you are not going to know you have a fake until you get the the gate and are turned away. Does Stubhub have someone sitting outside every event with tickets in their pockets to give those who have been screwed?
That being said, I've used stubhub to buy and sell...have never had a problem. If you wait until right before an event to buy you can sometimes get tickets for less then face value once the seller starts to get desperate.

For special events, they have on-site pickup. I believe they have an office in Manhattan for pickup. And yes, I got tix for half face for the Fiesta Bowl, bought day of event.

Thats not always the case, not by a long shot. I see people all the time selling seats at (or even below) cost. Sellers pay 15% commission to Stubhub, buyers pay 10%. So sellers get hosed more than the buyers do, and Stubhub ends up with 25% of every sale. A seller has to charge at least $79 to break even on a $65 ticket. So thats cost for a good seat.
Now that the Yanks are partners with Stubhub, you can sell your extra tix there without any fear of your ticket license being revoked. Which was always a bullshit policy anyway, since most of their best customers are ticket brokers to begin with. I was at the stadium just yesterday and they even have a Stubhub pickup booth right by Gate 6 (River Ave, across from Stan's). So you can order your tix and pick them up right at the ballpark. Sweet.
It's also guarenteed to be safe, if the tix are fakes or even just not delivered as promised the buyer gets replacement tix N/C and the seller has his account suspended. I would trust Stubhub way more than E-Bay, and buying tix on Craigs list is as unsafe as buying them on the street, since thats effectively what you're doing.

Everytime you use stubhub, you put a ticket scalper out of work.

Nah. Tix don't always sell on Stubhub, so then you either have to give them away to friends/family or give them to the street guys for half of face value. (Yes, thats what they pay. Half of face value. Remember that when you guys are haggling with them)

I think the latter owns the former. But I getcha if you mean regular auctions vs outright buying seats with stubhub.
The only way to get opening day tickets for the Nationals - the 4000 tix they had available through the MLB website sold out in 6 minutes; I paid a lot on StubHub (more than I have for any one event), but for me it was worth it and they arrived FedEx two days later. I plan to use them again when I come to NYC for the Yankees.
