This is Patrick Roy's son, playing for the QC Remparts in juniors. Fucking awesome.
Bonus Points: Patrick Roy owns, GMs, and coaches the team.

It's juniors, and he didn't skate anyone, so I'm guessing 10.

At about the :54 second mark It looked like he was about to do the Slap Shot strip tease dance.
Cool fight. Too bad the camera work was kind of shitty.

Great fight! I love how the other goalie just stands there and waits for his beating. And then just curls up into the fetal position.

Patrick Roy's Son is Nuts
The apple really doesn't fall far from the tree now does it??
Not shocked that the kid did this, considering who his old man is.
I remember when Patrick was playing for Colorado and went at it with the goalie from Detroit....I am almost certain is was Chris Osgood. He went nuts then too.

It's called turtling. He shoulda backed off. Hell, the other goalie didn't want him at all. But he should have at least charged him when he saw Roy coming right for him.
I was more impressed by the white team's enforcer getting tangled up with the linesman, and then Roy's second scrap where he beats the shit out of the SECOND guy!

I would've cleared the benches if I was the coach of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, there's no way he should have let his goalie get his ass beat like that.
The ONLY reason the benches weren't cleared was cause the QMJHL is a pussy league, there's no way the goalie would have gotten past the center line without a guy coming off the bench and beating back into daddy's shadow in the WHL.
All in all, his only saving grace with Actual hockey players is that he teed off with another player after that one. Still, he was way out of line. Chicoutimi goalie wanted no part of a fight.

Shutup. Seriously, your tripe is just continual isn't it.
In fact, the apple did fall far from the tree as the kid is AWFUL and his fight was a fucking joke. Sorry, there is a HUGE difference between having reason and simply attacking someone. Being a Colorado Avalanche fan, I'd like nothing more then to see Roy's kid come up and light the NHL on fire, but at 18 he's simply not looking like a great prospect to say the least. http://www.lhjmq.qc.ca/lang_fr/index.php?page=11194745&typ=reg&an=0708&v=v2&report=GoaliesRecordsPerTeam&filter_id=Que&subfilter_id=Also, wouldn't it be a joke for me to LIKE that fight and hate the Moore debacle?! Of course it is.
Watch more then the Stanley Cup finals when your "team" makes it Tom before you talk. Those fights versus Detroit were nothing short of crazy on both sides, but ALL, especially the goalies (of which Roy fought both Osgood and Vernon), were willing participants. They faced each other in amazingly hard hitting/fought games of HUGE importance for almost a decade. The rivalry has been off of late bc of the schedule and Colorado not playing up to that level any longer. However, with the schedule change and a (HOPEFULLY) firing of Joel Q, the Avs can play their part and bring back the rivalry in full force.

Was Roy a prick? Prob was, but he was never a goon. This kid is obviously not good enough that he had to do this to get noticed. When Roy wanted to get noticed, he would just be Roy and amaze people on the ice. I do not know where you are coming from Justice. I think your hatred for Spoon is clearly clogging your judgment in this. Like Spoon said, if Roy fought, it wa s basically because the moment and the situation dictated it. Which if you played even 1 minute of organized hockey, you would perfectly understand, because you would know the level of emotions that go into a hockey game. This kid is nothing but a bitter spoiled goon who can't stand that he can't be as good as daddy.

You have a good point Kevin, I just want to throw in another aspect to this point...
I was watching the Pens/ Isles post game on TSN and they had an ice level camera view of the fight, before the ref leaves jr Roy at center ice you can see sr Roy waving his little gem over to go get the goalie. Once the ref left jr's side he looked at his daddy and went after the poor little gaffer.
I think this was not only a spoiled rich kid being an ass, but also a dad trying to get some glory out of his son the last way he knew how.
Roy was/is an ass and he has definately wore off on his son. I just wish I could discredit his record and ability through this somehow.... but I can't.

Ok, as a huge Devil fan I must say this about Marty. Great net minder no doubt, but very hard not to get 40 wins a year when you play 80 out of 82 games. He has had some amazing games and the Stanley Cups, but his Vezina's were are mostly won during an offensive era. Meaning a GAA of 3+ is great

I agree with his win totals, not only does he play 75+ games every year but to play behind the trap your entire career makes those numbers shine a little brighter.
I don't think his Vezina's were won in an offensive era at all, the offensive era stopped just after he broke into the league, the days of 8-7 were long gone and the unfortunate times of the Neutral Zone Trap and Left wing Lock were well among us.
He's played his entire career in a defensive minded league, his only exception is in International play... even at that, he has a pretty good track record.

You are very right for most of his career, but the last four years, three of which he has won the Vesina have been where the NHL has bent over backwards to put points on the board. Not his fault and he is still great, but when Roy and Hasek won them, they were lights out

I think it is even harder to win 40 games when you play 80 games a year. You need to be a special specimen and player to be able to take that grind as a goalie and still be constantly the 1st or 2nd best goalie in your league day in and day out. And as far ads the reasoning he had great d and took less shots.. That too is even harder. If you are getting 30 35 shots a game and you are at that level, you are much sharper in the game because you are constantly alert. Where as if you stay around and just watch, Hockey is so quick that a play can happen in a span of l seconds. If you are not alert, and not strong minded, you will give up more goals than the guy that has 30 35 shots on goal.

Brodeur remark puzzles Lundqvist
Posted: Thursday March 27, 2008 06:59AM ET
Imagine Henrik Lundqvist's surprise upon discovering that Martin Brodeur had been quoted in the Jan. 14, 2008, edition of Sports Illustrated as saying of the Rangers' goaltender, "The way he plays is not something I like too much. "Lundqvist is weird." "I have to tell you, I respect Marty a lot, and it's always a great challenge for me to play against him, but I don't know what to say about what he said about me," a rather bemused Lundqvist told The Post yesterday. "Does he think my style is weird? I don't think I have a weird style. Does he think that I'm weird as person? I don't think I'm weird. I don't know what to say."
On second thought. Fuck him and his pasty Canadian ass.

Hasek for ever!
I blame Patrick Roy and his fallen apples!!!
No Justice, No Peace!!! Oh wait, scratch that. No Justice, No STDs!!!!

Go find highlights of the 1986 Stanley Cup playoffs or the 1993 Stanley Cup Playoffs...i'm sure then you will have a much different opinion of the Roy/Brodeur debate, which really isn't even a debate since Marty will probably be the FIRST to tell you Roy's the greatest ever.
From his dominance in the playoffs (carrying a team on his back as a 20 year old in 86 and winning something like 12 OT games in 93) to the fact that he REVOLUTIONIZED THE GAME as a butterfly goaltender when NO ONE was a butterfly goaltender, and how he influenced an entire generation of French-Canadian goaltenders to where now most of the goaltenders in the league are French-Canadian, or teams have at least one French-Canadian goaltender in their system.
Plus add one of the greatest comebacks of all time "I couldn't hear what JR was saying cause of my three stanley cup rings stuck in my ears", and its no contest

All perfect except the three rings comment...that year ended up being his third. How'd that work out for the big mouthed Roenick!?

Plus no one ever looked cooler playing goalie than Roy did...especially with the classic "wink" he would throw every so often after making a huge save
