So, we had people over for Easter and between desserts that we had and stuff people brought we had four assorted cakes and pies, as well as cookies - all for only nine people. Needless to say we had A LOT of left-overs. I hate to see things go bad and get thrown out (my mom always taught me that there are kids starving in Newark) so I've been having some for breakfast as well as for dessert at night.

Yesterday I had a nice big slice of apple pie with whipped cream and today I had two hunks of cheesecake with strawberries and syrup. My wife pretty much has called me an animal for having cake for breakfast and says that I'm a horrible example for the kids. What say you?

LOL I was always told there were starving kids in "name the country" but never Newark. That's hysterical!

I rarely eat breakfast so I'm not much help, your wife would say I'm not a good example either. Atleast your eating!

I'm going to edit here and say as long as the kids aren't around its ok.

It's eggs, milk and butter.

I got up at 6am today to watch the sox, and although I had plans to make eggs, I settled for 2 devil dogs and some coffee.

No biggie.

My wife (who always tells the kids that she was never allowed to eat suger cereals as a child) has no problems with the kids having pie for breakfast. As for me, I don't usually consume something so sweet so early but, hey, whatever floats your boat.

And Judge, I've been to Newark. There are no starving kids there.

The chocolate chip muffins, coffee rolls, amd most doughnuts are just as sugar filled as any conventional dessert cake ... I see no reason why not.

Cake is fine

Cake is a pastry in my book, if you can eat a muffin or donut, why not a cake, same ingredients are being used

I've had ice cream cake for breakfast. Is there a more delicious way to get some dairy? I say NO!

Right now we have some leftover red velvet and carrot cakes that look mighty tempting.
